Hi, Whenever I am about to land the MD-11 a message on the PFD flashes LO-SPEED PROTECTION and then the throttles jump to full, then after that the plane speeds up to about 220 knots and I cannot land. The only way I can land is by holding down F2 throughout the entire approach. I'm pretty sure I'm setting up the FMS right because I put in a flightplan, weights, takeoff and init pages. I just don't know what to do anymore!Thanks,Jeff

If this is a manual landing your Vref speed is wrong and you are allowing the speed to decay too low.

You must remember your minimum approach speed should be VREF+5kts. But a good approach speed = VREF+1/2 Wind+Gust. Tailwinds excluded.
