Thanks for the info Eric, I have tried twice today each time sacking the download after about 3 hrs. Will try again in a few days, just picked up the Q400, I'll fly that till i can kick the tyres on the NGX.

Are there any issues with the PMDG server? Are they being overloaded with people downloading the latest update/release? I have been trying to download the NGX for P3D for about 3 hrs and have another 4 to go. Download speed is between 24 and 30 kbps on a files size of 739mb. I don't think it is on my connection as I have a 20mb internet connection. No other activity on the line to absorb the available bandwidth. Justin Paull

I’m struggling to get fs2crew to play on my headset with all other sounds coming from the normal speakers. I’m using a simple headset with boom mic with two plugs, one for the mic and one for the speakers. Setup is as follows: Win 7 64 Creatice SB X-Fi sound card Realtek HD Audio integrated on motherboard All drivers are up to date and I have a fresh install of FSX with PMDG and FS2Crew. I can set up the headset within in windows sound panel and the Realtek panel, both show the mic working and sound comes out of the headset when I click on the test button. The mic works fine but I am not able to get the crew sounds on the headset. I have selected “Realtek HD Audio Speakers in the FS2Crew cfg panel and nothing changes. Selecting HS on the main panel makes no difference. No matter what the setting it always plays on the main speakers. I did notice before the fresh install that ATIS reports would come through the headset but not crew sounds. Can anyone help, I don’t want to have to only use the headset.

I've been working though a few issues that I was having. The EFIS would work fine but the buttons, switches and the knobs on the MPC Pro would not work. If the sim was changed the MCP would update on the numbers and lights but no input from the mpc was making it to the sim. Found out that this was caused by the MCP being plugged into a non powered usb hub. Once plugged directly into a pc usb slot it work fine.

I can't get to the online manuals, the website reports that the server is unavailable. Can someone just check to see if they can get to it, or is it just my router playing up again.

Stupid Belkin Playmax router, nothing but trouble. Connected an old router and it took about 3 min at 639 kb/sec :)

I am using the email link sent after my purchase to access the download server. I am only getting 23kb/sec download speed. Is there a problem with the server? 3.5 hours for a 260mb download in this day and age? My connection is fine as I am able to steam Netflix and Spotify with no issues.

The support system works well and 9 times out of 10 there is an issue with spam filters, check your spam setting to ensure that you are not blocking the reply.

Steve,Ensure that you are set up for the approach correctly and manage your decent rate and speed all the way down the ILS. A previous post mentioned it correctly, you have to fly the plane onto the deck, this is not a little Cessna that you can hold off for perfect 3 pointer. Pay close attention to your decent rate in the last 200 odd feet, pull back on the power at 50 feet and flare at the same time. If you are coming off the power much higher you are carrying too much speed in your final approach. Don’t float the aircraft down the runway for a perfect landing, ground effect will come into play and you will have exaggerated landing distances and even runway overrun. It’s just practice, practice, practice. It helps if you have a wide monitor and TrackIR, as you will get a better “feel” for it in the last few seconds before touchdown. I work away from home during the week and fly short haul every Mon and Fri. On the odd occasion the pilots will put the A319 down nice and gentle but most of the time, due to the windy conditions, they put it down to keep it down….

Tim,You are not going to get the 950 on your current board. As for the question on the OS, I think that dell just use an OEM version of Windows. You should be able to drop in new components and have it start up as normal. Be aware that major component changes will require you to re-register the software licence. Your PC should have come with a Vista certificate with the licence details on it (possibly a sticky label on the PC)I would strongly suggest that you not go for the 950 as this is now old tec, go for an I5 2500K system. Your power supply is at the low end and you will need to check if it is compatible with the LGA1155 boards (Google is your friend here). I have done a quick search on the UK computer sites and found that you can get motherboard, cpu and new memory within your current budget. I would also move to windows 7 64 if you can push the boat out.justinpaull

I can safely say that I spent most of yesterday with my nose in all the manuals only coming out for snack on a turkey sandwich and a cup of tea. I mentioned in a previous post that the end of the box had been damaged, to the printers credit they did a sterling job of packing the manuals as they were all in perfect condition. There is a noticeable difference in the black background colour in FCOM Vol 1 and 2 when compared to the other manuals but all info is still perfectly clear. I only have a very minor gripe which is that the outer cover on the FCOM Vol 2 is listed as the FCOM for the 747. Rest assured all documentation inside is for the 737. To correct this I will simply scan the Vol 1 picture and apply a bit of “hocus-pocus” is photoshop, job done and I will move up from being happy to being ecstatic. Parcel Force braved the UK snow and ice to deliver my set to me this morning. The box was badly damaged with one side ripped off completely and stuck back on with sticky tape.....I managed a quick peek inside to estimate damage before my wife snatched the box away saying “Not Before Christmas!” The little I did manage to see looked to be ok. It may have been an irritated person in the customs cell that could not be bothered to open the box in a nice fashion.After all that worrying about the import tax and duty I think I am one of the lucky ones that got away with it. Chris, I would keep an eye on this forum to find out if you were the only one to be charged and if you were you could always try to get some of it back.I didn’t get a chance to check manual quality before I was put in a half nelson, I will report back after the 25th. Robert,Are you going to be in a position to use an EU distributer for the flight manuals? I would love to get a set but I don't want to pay so much for international delivery. I am also very weary of the additional import tax and outrageous post office handling fee!Justin P

This version is voice only, I believe that a button version will be released a little later in the year. My advice - get your headset sorted and get this version. It is the best thing since sliced bread, fact. I very much doubt that you will regret it.

Edward,Are you wanting to fly an IFR route landing at the same airfield. What aircraft are you going to use and are you talking about the FS9 FSX inbuilt planner?

RickIs it possible that you are getting feedback noise from a controller? Without knowing more of the situation it is hard to tell.
