September 28, 200916 yr There were areas in which I would get massive stutters which I found out were caused by trees. This happened even in areas that were not dense in Autogen at all. Nothing including bufferpools helped. For example, I could never fly the soaring missions in fsx; they were in areas that the trees caused unflyable stutters. According to Nick there were type of autogen trees that caused it and that there he had a fix comming in which it replaced the said autogen trees. So I avoided those areas and have waited for the fix. Now that Fall is here and the autogen trees are different, I am having problems with stutters in many areas that I don't want to avoid. (unless I fly in summer all the time) So nick or anyone else; has anyone found a solution to this?
September 28, 200916 yr isn't it just the pine trees?NBo it most definitly isn't. It is a problem with any texture that does not feature individually defined autogen placement but instead the texture is defined to have the max number of trees displayed only limited by the autogen slider.

If so how?

If so how?GEX Europe.. not UTX, although UTX will also help as I will explain belowGEX is textures.. UTX is landclassWe (GEX) fixed it on a large percentage of the tree tiles by manually placing tree targets and not allowing the sim to run wild with them but were not able to change one very large tree set because if we did that would cause the loss of correct tree species in different areas of the world. Our method did reduce the problem substantially but as mentioned it will also depend on what trees tiles are being used and their volume of use.The landclass in use also helps too because the better the defined landclass, the less overuse of tree tiles. In example, the Europe Sailplane mission is very smooth with our changes where with default FSX it could present tree stutters. Use of UTX Europe and other 3rd party landclass products also assists because default FSX runs FAR too many trees in the mountains of Europe and other places around the globe and does not display the right land type. Therefore the issue is a combination problem which both a properly defined landclass and our tree tile edits repair and do so with a high degree of success.Although any tile with a large number of trees can be a problem, the pine species in FSX is in fact the primary problem as they tend to display 3 trees per target under higher autogen slider where others do not. Gum trees also present a large drain too.The GEX Eu product will be available in about 45 days or less

Also what I don't understand is why one doesn't get just plain low FPS instead of fluctuations in FPS when flying in these areas?
