October 2, 200916 yr Well i have another problem...Approaching Chicago on ILS, the Wilco A320 altitude hold didn't disengage when it was supposed to... so I had to fly it manual the rest of the way.. still landed pretty good but still i'd rather have had the ILS... This wasn't the first time it has happened and I don't know why it never disengages.. can anyone help?

October 3, 200916 yr Altitude hold should not be used to fly an approach once the localizer and glideslope is within range.the alltitude hold wont disengage by itself i dont think. If you are trying to get the aircarft to follow the glide slope you have to use the nav function(if using a basic model that is) but if you are using a complicated bird the Approach button function i beleive and it will autoland. October 3, 200916 yr I've noticed that if I engage the APRH (approach) button before I'm at a level altitude (i.e. still descending), when I do level out, the APRH disarms. When it picks up glideslope, it doesn't descend, because it is no longer armed. Make sure you are level before engaging the ILS (APRH).
