FSX Major CTD Problem with Windows 7

Featured Replies

Just bought FSX and it looks nice, but it won't run properly in Windows 7. CTDs every time I access menus in full screen mode. The serious decrease in performance over FS2004 is bad enough, (from 50-80 FPS down to 10-30 FPS) but the CTD makes it almost unusable for me. Guess I'll have to go back to FS2004 unless MS fixes it.

What a really rude and unhelpful post. Why did you bother?

Hi,I had the same crash to desktop problem with a message saying a fatal error had occured. It kept happening when I clicked on the menu bar during flight.I found a solution which is to download a file called UIAutomationCore.dll and then to put this file into your main FSX directory.I don't know technically what this does, but every since I did it my FSX has worked fine. I downloaded it from http://www.search-dll.com/dll-files/downlo...oncore.dll.html but you might be able to get it elsewhere.Goodluck!Rich

You could do just a fresh intall as well, thats what i did and so far no problem, i just am not running SP2, so dont install SP2 and my guess is you will be fine. I did a flight from DC to San Juan and no problem, thats a 3.15hr flight I was normally getting this error 20mins into a flight before

Um, someone with your username posted here:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itproappcompat/thread/fb1808ff-92f0-478b-9826-f2ed6fbeae97 on May 27th that they had the same problem that the OP mentions :( . If that was you, could you expand on how you fixed it or are you saying that you only had a problem with Windows 7 RC
