October 14, 200916 yr Just bought FSX and it looks nice, but it won't run properly in Windows 7. CTDs every time I access menus in full screen mode. The serious decrease in performance over FS2004 is bad enough, (from 50-80 FPS down to 10-30 FPS) but the CTD makes it almost unusable for me. Guess I'll have to go back to FS2004 unless MS fixes it. November 4, 200916 yr you are doing something wrong. FSX runs perfectly in Win7.64What a really rude and unhelpful post. Why did you bother?
November 11, 200916 yr Hi,I had the same crash to desktop problem with a message saying a fatal error had occured. It kept happening when I clicked on the menu bar during flight.I found a solution which is to download a file called UIAutomationCore.dll and then to put this file into your main FSX directory.I don't know technically what this does, but every since I did it my FSX has worked fine. I downloaded it from http://www.search-dll.com/dll-files/downlo...oncore.dll.html but you might be able to get it elsewhere.Goodluck!Rich
November 13, 200916 yr You could do just a fresh intall as well, thats what i did and so far no problem, i just am not running SP2, so dont install SP2 and my guess is you will be fine. I did a flight from DC to San Juan and no problem, thats a 3.15hr flight I was normally getting this error 20mins into a flight before
