October 17, 200916 yr Hi all. My PMDG737-800 displays the red brakes message in the lower left corner even after I have show_brakes_message=0 in the fs9.cfg file. This message pops up as I reach my initial t/o altitude of 6000 (being controlled via autopilot) and remains there until it brings the plane to a complete standstill upon landing. It then will disappear as I continue to taxi. Any ideas what may be causing this. AutoBrake setting is set to off.Spoilers not armed.Bill

October 17, 200916 yr Author What kind of control hardware do you have? Sounds like a calibration issueGeorge thanks for your reply. Controls are Saitek Throttle quadrant and Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick plus I have GoFlight Units, CP Flight MCP and EFIs and various switches and rotaries including one for auto brake which is set to off. This brakes issue does not appear in the Wilco PIC 737. In the PMDG 737-800 the brakes act normally when taxiing for take off i.e. I have them mapped to a button on joystick and they come on and off as button is operated. Thanks for any further help.I had the 737-600/700 installed and did not have this problem but it has appeared after purchasing the stand alone 737-800 (via ebay)Bill

October 19, 200916 yr Author Really noone else?Further info. On a flight today all was working normally, the plane was under the control of the FMC. Just as the plane levelled off at cruise altitude the brakes message popped up and remained on until the plane had come to a complete standstill on the runway after landing. Then I applied a little power, the warning horn sounded the brakes released and I was able to taxi in. Any ideas?Bill

Depending if the message says differential or just brakes could be another clue. Only time I have encountered this, it was an axis calibration issue. George Morris

Thinking I should maybe try a delete of the fs.cfg file but your axis calibration idea is a posssible reason as I have been having problems really getting to grips with calibrating my Logitech joystick through FSUIPC.Bill
October 28, 200916 yr Author Edit Thought I had it solved by starting with the Default Cessna and then changing to the PMDG-800. Was good for 2 flights with no brakes being strangely applied but next time I started the computer it was back to the same problem.Bill
October 29, 200916 yr It really sounds like an axis calibration issue... Do you have one button programmed for the brakes axis? Do you have the differential braking axes programmed? Try reversing the axis of the brake, it is an issue with pedal calibration sometimes...A bit in the dark here really... but it does sound like a calibration or assignment issue...Andrew Andrew Entwistle

I have been rebuilding my sim and in an effort to trace this problem today I systematically removed attached hardware items until i was at bare minimum. Now here is the strange thing. On the last 3 flights I have loaded the PMDG With Winglets and not once have I had the problem - happy days. All other flights were in the version without winglets (both standard PMDG paints). Is that supposed to be the case or have I got a corrupted file here? Will do more testing tomorrow and report back.Bill
