October 22, 200916 yr Hello Guys !AMD Phenom II X3 720 outAMD Phenom II X4 955 inAfinityMask=14FPS went down dramatically.did I miss something, shouldn't it be the other way around ?????? TnxYair
October 22, 200916 yr Yes, I guess so.If you did miss something? How could I tell?Did you do a clean install of your OS after installing the new CPU?Did you go through your BIOS settings after installing the new CPU?Is there a new BIOS version for whatever mobo you use that you should flash?Have you benchmarked your new CPU and checked if the results are OK?
October 22, 200916 yr Have you deleted your fsx.cfg file since changing CPUs? Try that and also try running the sim without affinitymask since a native quad w/out HT shouldn't really need to use that setting.

The 720 is just a Phenom II 920 with one core disabled by software most of the time Best thing to do is do the above and delete your fsx.cfg. Experiment with AffinityMask 14 (last 3 cores) and 15 (all 4 cores). If you are using AffinityMask=14 and your 955 has a lower frequency than your 720 then that's expected because the 720 is 3 cores. October 22, 200916 yr As gman said there is no reason to clean install you OS. Follow techs advice and delete the fsx.cfg and don't run the affinity mask. See how it treats you then. Also the x3 720 is a 945 with a single locked core and slightly lower stock multiplier that is unlocked. It is not a 920 since the 920 wafers are used to make AM2+ chips and not AM3's which have DDR3 support.
