October 26, 200916 yr Why are you asking this question? Who asked you to make videos for us? If you make a video it should be because you want to. And if you post it and it is good, word will get around, or you can make an invititation to view it and request a critique on it, whether that be good, negative and/or constructive. Jim D.look m8 i ask this question because people are slagging of my videos in this post so i asked them what they want to see insted of this
October 26, 200916 yr look m8 i ask this question because people are slagging of my videos in this post so i asked them what they want to see insted of thisSomething that highlights the more positive aspects of the sim and sim add-ons would be nice. It's also fun to watch videos that are different from the norm. For example, I can go find any number of PMDG 747 landing videos, but not quite as many landing CatIII in a strong crosswind. Wingviews are okay as part of a video, but get boring after awhile. Explore the virtual cockpit facing a Gulf coast sunset or perhaps a spot on landing with the tower view (FS9) positioned at the end of the runway so we can see the aircraft coming in and then watch it from behind as it touches down. Just think outside the box instead of the same old stuff that's already crowding YouTube. Jeremy "rightseater" Fletcher
October 26, 200916 yr HI GUYS I HAVE A FLIGHT SIM 2004 CHANNEL ON YOUTUBE WERE I ADD USALY 2 VIDEOS A DAY OF FLIGHT SIM IN HD COULD YOU HELP ME BY VIEWING THE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBING AS I WOULD REALY APPRECIATE IT THANK-YOU FSAIRBUSHERE IS THE LINK TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNELhttp://www.youtube.com/fsairbus Mate:Showing up at Avsim saying that you make FS videos is like showing up at Wimbeldon proclaiming that you know how to play tennis. You're gonna have to be on your A game if you want a following here because we've all seen videos that approach movie quality in creativity and cinematic presense. You get subscriptions by merit, not by begging. Don't ask us what we want to see...do something spectacular, get a reputation for excellence and I'm sure you'll have no problems getting people to subscribe. If not, best leave your videos on Youtube to die a quiet death.
October 27, 200916 yr Boy, you sure did open a can of worms. Bam, Wham, take that. And the constructive critizism was also 'proper' and deserved. But, I feel your pain. First of all you can't put your work in a personal channel and get views. They don't have a channel for 'Flight Sim' so you put it in some other category and it gets lost. Overwhelmed and burried by garbage (well, 90% of it is). So you don't have a chance to get noticed. So you're trying to advertise due to your fraustration, and I hear you. Trouble is nobody cares. We all have watched 1000's of videos and get burned out. Especially those with wing views, panning in VC, etc. And the rock music! Why hard rock? Or rap? So it's a cruel world. But keep improving your cinematic endeavours for your own satisfaction and don't expect anyone to like any of your videos. It IS, after all, 99.9% ego trip (right?). Right. And keep them short 3 mins or so or you'll 'loose' those that do tune in. Tell a story if you can, or do an upside down flight thru London Tunnel or something. Otherwise-ho hum. Simple as that. You might try posting to SimTube.com, as it's ALL Flight Sim videos, with an occassional 'real life' flying feature. It's the same as YouTube: register and upload. Go watch (your own too-hehe). Good filming and posting. Will ck back next year to see if/how you improved (and you will).Chuck BNapamule

October 28, 200916 yr Went and looked at your videos. They are 'ok' but too short, and no 'story' or theme. Or music (hehe). Actually a little music will work for when you can't hear the engines (like tower views). Put some spot view shots, and tower fly by, to mix views up. Do you use FRAPS? Or do you take video with a cam of monitor? Fraps videos are huge, but you can crop down to 1/10 size if you inport into Win's Movie Maker and edit then save as *.wmv. You can upload wmv to youtube. It doesn't have to be flash or DivX.I criticize my own videos but won't remake them. Anyway it's just a record of current 'phase' I am in for posperity. I did good videos in 2004 where now they are only 'so-so'. My quest is making FRAPS work in FSX and I do 'ok', but barely. If you are rural, get a crop duster and spray some fields with it. Find a bridge, smoke stacks, and maybe some grass strips and shot some videos. It's been interesting looking at your stuff up close and personal. I see you're 22 yrs old, so you're still young enough to learn Vegas, which is ultimate video editor because of all the effects you can do. I may be 69 yrs old (and retired), but I still like to 'play'. Making videos keeps me busy. Cheers.Chuck BNapamule
