Has your currency's exchange rate affected your FS spending?

IMPORTANT: For some reason my poll isn't visible. Hopefully it will appear soon. I'm awaiting help from Tom! Please be patient.I'm running this poll to establish if spending habits have been affected by the poor exchange rate which has mainly affected UK residents.Over the last year or so the British Pound has suffered more than other currencies and many FS-software titles are now quite expensive compared to a year or so ago. Most software that can be bought online in the UK is now priced in Euros and is now much more expensive than a couple of years ago. Back in November 2007 one Euro cost around 70p. Now it's 90-95p - nearly 35% more expensive. It really brought it home to me when I priced up buying AES for many of my 3rd party airports. To buy around 75 credits would cost me 90 Euros or 80 UK Pounds. Two years ago it would have cost me about 63 UK Pounds. Don't get me wrong - AES looks great and I know a lot of work goes into it but when it's priced in Euros it becomes very expensive. Buying in US Dollars isn't an option for UK residents on Aerosoft unfortunately. So I wondered if I was alone in cutting back and that's the reason I'm running this poll. Please let others know how you feel if you live in a country thats currency has become more expensive against the dollar /euro.Thanks.

Yes, but in the opposite direction. The Canadian dollar has appreciated against the American, so it's become cheaper for me to buy FS related software--at least from American sources.

Ray, I'm with you.The current recession here in the UK has hit the strength of the pound badly.I was planning to buy the latest two offerings from PMDG and updating my AS 6.5 to ASA, both of which will now have to wait until the pound recovers some of its position versus the dollar and the euro.Phil Densley

Hi Phil,Apologies for the late response. I wouldn't move to ASA unless you're moving to FSX. I'm sticking with AS6.5 and ASX.On the poll front I'm sorry it never really took off. Clearly I did something wrong but without any instructions from AvSim on how to conduct one it was always going to be a bit hit 'n miss. Maybe AvSim could issue som guidance if they're reading this. My PM to Tom still hasn't been answered. Maybe he's out of the country? :(
