Hi all,Till last week I had following system :E8500 3.16 @ 4.01Asus Maximus Extreme --> FSB @ 5006 Gb OCZ 1800 @ 16002x 26" screen --> 3350x1060Vista Ultimate 64 bitNow I have :I860 2.8 @ 3.97Asus P7P55D6 Gb OCZ 1800 @ 18002x 26" --> 3350x1060Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bitIn FSX I have slightly better framerates, but the main advantage is smoother flights , especially when turning over detailed scenery. Regarding TP I always could fly with 90-100 knots without blurries. Now when flying TP speed doesn't matter anymore.Within 20 seconds small blurries start to appear.Wether flying at 60 or 110 knots. It doesn't matter if I span FSX just over 1 screen instead or 2.Normally spanned over 2 screens is much more taxing on the pc.When I set the framerate counter to Unlimitd I can see framerates between 40-100. So imho FSX should be able to handle it.Has anyone else experienced this ? And perhaps has a solution for it ?

HiPresumably FSX and TP are not using all 4 cores efficiently. There is a system setting to use all cores. can't remember what it is off hand. There is also an affinity mask setting you need to do in the fsx.cfg file. Also there is a setting in the video driver software "threaded optimization" you may want to check is switched on.Finally if all 4 cores are not being used, you may need to write a batch file to change the afifnity settings for the two programs being used.I guess you woud probably have thought of these but worth mentioning just in case.Hope it helps, IANps, I noted your earlier post about scenery priority and whilst it seems to make sense, I've tried it both ways and didn't note any difference.

Hi Ian,Just solved my problem. What I did : I chanced the Rate factor form 2 to 4 and the blurries where gone. At the moment I am flying at 120 knots over the 2 screens with a Rate factor of 8.I am curious what can be achieved regarding speed.About the scenery priority ; I agree with Nick N that object addon scenery should be placed above mesh, landclass, textures. Also with those 90 TP entries you will loose overview over the scenery library. My methode was an easy way to get the scenery organised in a right way for Fs.

Hi Gerard, what is this Rate factor setting? And where can it be found.I am currently trying to resolve a strange issue as well. Yesterday, on brand new installation of FSX and Tileproxy, my first flights with tile proxy were amazing, super quality, I was getting up to 1500 tile accesses per second, and amazing frame rates. Today, its much slower and even though I pause for ages, and the ovals are filled completely, I cant seem to get the textures to load high res quickly. And i have changed nothing..cheers, Mark

Generally Win7 should also give better performance compared to Vista.
