November 27, 200916 yr I have two monitors, but I mostly use just one of them for FSX (in window mode). On the other I have charts, manuals etc. Now, whenever I click away from the sim (e.g. to change pages in a manual on my second monitor), the sound from the sim disappears until I bring the FSX window back in focus. This is really annoying - I would like the sounds from the cockpit and engines to continue playing regardless of what window currently has the focus (similar to the way the media player behaves, for example). Does anyone know of a way to accomplish that? Any suggestions are most welcome. November 27, 200916 yr This happens with my TH2G setup also when I select something like the FS Commander map on my 4th monitor. I don't think there is a "fix" for it...at least I've never heard of one. The problem seems to be that not only are we changing windows, but we are doing it by going to a monitor that is running off the second port of the video card. This will not just change the "window focus" within FSX itself, but will actually take the focus off of the entire FSX application. Does it happen if you drag one of those windows from your second monitor back to your first monitor, then click on that window? FSX shouldn't lose the sound then, because the window is running off the first video port along with FSX. The "window focus" changes, but not the "application focus".It's a little bit annoying, but I got used to it after a while. Every once in a while, you may miss an ATC communication for you if you stay on that second monitor for too long, but ATC will usually remind you again that you are being a dork pilot for not listening to them. :( I've gotten used to just quickly re-clicking my main monitor with the mouse to re-focus FSX, then read whatever I want from my 4th (your second) monitor. Also, with some custom aircraft (that presumably handle some sounds outside the FSX sound engine), I still get partial sounds even when the FSX window does not have focus. E.g. with the A2A Cub for FSX, if I start the takeoff roll and then switch window the sound disappears, but if I then brake hard using my pedals, the sound of the prop striking the ground can be heard no matter which window/application has the focus. So it must have something to do with the FSX sound engine. If I open the GPS or ATC window then undock it and move\resize it where I want, I can click on it without losing the sound. Rick Ryan
