Cockpit Vid's

Featured Replies

Morning All, Today I'm looking for a link for a cockpit video, it would have to be in PAL format and also - would any one know if we have to pay any customs charge into the UK (other than the normal P&P/shipping) on dvd's if they come from abroad, Cheers, Frederick J. Brown

the ITVV Martinair MD11 DVD is an excellent choice. Although you can probably convert it to PAL format yourself.

I agree with that assessment. I've got the VHS version and the two tapes last for about 3 hours. The company is British as far as I know, no customs charges, and the DVDs on their site (http://www.itvv.com) are in PAL format.Andy L

Nice one people - I'll give the site a whirl later on tonight :( Cheers, Freddie

Update : I' ve ordered the dvd from AviationRetailDirect at a reasonable price - looking forward to next week :( , Cheers, Frederick J. B

There is a Swissair MD11 dvd (Worldairroutes I think) as well - not so excellent as the ITVV one but very interesting none the less. Covers flight from Switzerland to South America and back with most aspects of the flight.John Ellison

I also have to recommend the ITVV MD-11 video. :( It's well made and I really enjoyed those moments when I thought wow, that's exactly how I do it. Also seeing the displays/systems in the PMDG aircraft reflect what you see in the video throughout the different phases of flight is really cool. I got my DVDs from flight 1; mine are in NTSC format (I live in the states) but if my memory is correct they also sold the PAL format ones.I also recommend the Virgin 747-400 video from EGLL>KSFO. I learned a a lot from that video as well, to include setting the fuel system to direct to engine after the wing tanks balance out during the flight (I know it's in the PMDG manual, but I missed it) :( . The 767 one is not a good as the MD-11 or 747 videos but they go over North Atlantic Tracks in it.
