December 5, 200916 yr Hi Gents, I'd like to paint the model with the sensor but having looked through both the aircraft and texture.cfg of the HKG model I can't tell how to point my textures to the model? It must be something simple which I have missed... any ideas?ThanksButch Menchaca
December 8, 200916 yr I also had a go at this, Butch, but they've done a sneaky with this livery. I did an Australian Customs model but couldn't get the sensors to show up.Come on guys, what's the trick? It's a brilliant looking add-on.Frank

Hey Frank, I have dibs on a low vis Aussiex (AWACS type scheme) Ok? :( I suspect its tied to the rego, I have not tried it yet but I am thinking if you use all the CFG details HK entry it will show up...
December 8, 200916 yr Author Amazing what 10 minutes and a glass of sav blanc does to focus the mind... I've worked it out.
December 10, 200916 yr Hi, would you mind to help me out, with the same problem? But i got it with the base HKG livery as well. The Sensor equipment will not show up for me. When i start fsx it "just" shows the HKG livery on the standard JS41 model. Thanks in advance. Alex Best regards,
December 10, 200916 yr Commercial Member Hi Gents, I'd like to paint the model with the sensor but having looked through both the aircraft and texture.cfg of the HKG model I can't tell how to point my textures to the model? It must be something simple which I have missed.Nothing simple that you could know without this being documented, which it is not.Unfortunately, we probably didn't give the HKG multipurpose aircraft enough forethought as far as repaints is concerned. The whole idea of including this variant was conceived and implemented just days before release. The Gauges of the PMDG J41 detects the suffix "HKG" in the texture folder name (and "texture= " entry in the aircraft.cfg) and when HKG is present, the model is automatically modified to show the various sensors, cameras, etc...My best advice would be to rename the texture.hkg folder something else (and modify the appropriate HKG livery entry in aircraft.cfg. This of course would disable the sensors on the HKG model, but if you aren't using it anyway.. so be it. Then, place your new repaint into a "texture.HKG" folder and use "texture=hkg" in your new livery's aircraft.cfg entry.I'm not certain at this point EXACTLY how the "HKG" detection works, so you could experiment with naming a folder something like "Texture.AHKG" and see if that works. If not, you are, unfortunately, limited to only one folder name option for the textures.Looking forward to seeing your repaint!Hi, would you mind to help me out, with the same problem? But i got it with the base HKG livery as well. The Sensor equipment will not show up for me. When i start fsx it "just" shows the HKG livery on the standard JS41 model. The sensors will not show up in the preview window when selecting aircraft. It will only show up after loading the flight. Sometimes there is a slight delay of a few seconds after loading the VC. Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
December 10, 200916 yr thanks for your tipp - i got it to work wenn i copied the textures for the sensorstuff directly into the texture.HKG folder. And for the other one - i'll try that :) thanks Best regards,
December 11, 200916 yr Thanx Vin,I appreciate your help on this. I've got a nice Ozzie Customs paint that I've been flying for a few days, but I did as you said and used the Hong Kong folder.I'll also have a play around with the AHKG suffix thing as well and see if I can't get it to work. It really is a great add-on craft and a shame not to paint it as well,Thanx again,Frank
