December 18, 200916 yr Having bought the DreamFleet A36, Archer III & Baron 58 for FS9 (COF) I am wondering if it possible to somehow use these in FSX Gold Edition? I see the word "porting" used in other questions about using FS9 planes in FSX but don't have a clue what this involves. Any suggestions would be a big help to a FSX noobee. Thanks.

Thanks. Can it be done, yes.. but you may have to invest in replacement RXP gauges that will run in FSX, and even then...Start by moving the aircraft folder for the plane you want from FS9 to FSX and look up the gauges that are used by looking in the panel.cfg file. Those gauges also need to be moved from FS9 to FSX. Then the question is, what gauges do not work in FSX and are there replacements?Lastly, there will be little things that do not work, no matter what you do..As an example, I have the A36 working reasonably well in FSX, but the "door open" warning message is on all the time... and no fix...You are better off buying new replacement aircraft for FSX, like the RealAir Duke or Carenado Arrow, and leave FS9 installed on your machinefor those days when you want to fly the Dreamfleet aircraft the way they were meant to fly.. :( Bert
December 18, 200916 yr Author Thanks Bert. Looks like I'll be going back to FS9 more often than I had hoped. :(
December 19, 200916 yr Thanks Bert. Looks like I'll be going back to FS9 more often than I had hoped. :(I know the feeling... I still fly the Flight1 Piper Meridian in FS9...However, if you try the RealAir Duke with the RXP GNS530 in FSX, it is pretty amazing... and that is only one of many really nice aircraft :( Bert
December 19, 200916 yr I also discussed some of the problems I have tried to overcome with the Beech A36 Bonanza. I haven't completed RXP gauge swaps. Some of the original gauges still cause faults when loading. One prompt repeatedily looks for the RealityXP modules even though they are in the right place. I replaced the HSI with the FSX Baron HSI. Some other issues are that the interior dome light stays on and if I select the Bonanza as my initial flight, one of the errors will freeze FSX so I have to load another aircraft first, then go back to the aircraft select menu and select the Bonanza. So far I have not had any issues with flying properties or sound. If I could do the same with the Piper Archer III I will be happy. Keith Keith Guillory
