December 31, 200916 yr adl320,Thanks a lot for your professional input. Will be much appreciated by many, I'm sure. However I don't value this addon like I do because I have problems with flying airbuses.I've known the theory and the concept quite well for years, I believe.I just find this addon buggy too much. But it's just my own opinion, of course.Hi Rafal,I just realized my earlier reply was for Thralni. Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse or make it sound as if you didn't know the "Magic Bus"!Aaron
December 31, 200916 yr adl320: Thanks for the insightful post! A question for you: how much resemble the systems of the MD-11 and general modern Airbus plane each other? I'm asking this, because I plan to get the PMDG MD-11. Depending on how similar it is to Airbus, I will get it before trying the Airbus planes or after.Thralni,Check out the PMDG website link and FAQ section on "Tips for Boeing Pilots". It covers some of the autolight and MCDU differences/similarities with Boeing and I think will answer your question:http://ops.precisionmanuals.com/wiki/PMDG_...r_Boeing_pilotsAaron
December 31, 200916 yr Author adl320,Thanks! Been reading that intently, and sounds all very interesting to me. I shall get the MD-11 eventually, that's for sure. I have to make my mind up, though, on what planes I really want to learn to fly. Now it's the PMDG 747, and after that the LDS767. Possibly, if the ASA320 Advanced is released while I'm done with the LDS767, I'll get the ASA320 Advanced first and learn that one. I really need a good shorthaul plane that is up to date in visuals and systems. I have been on the fence regarding the PMDG 737, but this is mostly because of the amount of liveries available... See, I have the Ariane 737-700 already and I like it, but it has two terrible shortcomings: Navdata is badly out of date and I have a very limited amount of liveries available. So, I'll just have to see how things unfold. By far the most advanced sim I have in my hanger to date, and I have nearly all of the primary releases. I'm really only scratching the surface with this but today, after one "follow the tutorial" flight, I was able to pre-flight and complete a flight w/o referencing the manual. Again, scratching the surface but satisfying nonetheless. For other short haul aircraft, have you looked at or own the MD-80 Professional? It's old school but still a nice aircraft and the systems are very well modeled like PMDG quality. I also love the ATR-72 available through Flight 1 Software. The PMDG 737 is a really nice plane and those 800s will take you pretty far. I know here Alaska Airlines flies them from Anchorage (PANC) to Washington Regan national (KDCA).Happy New Year and happy flying!Aaron
January 3, 201016 yr In my opinion Wilco's Airbus vol.2 models are horrible, that model looks no where near a real a330/a340, waste of money. I currently use CLS which the model is i believe the closest one to the real deal (not perfect), project opensky isn't bad either if you work it a little with the textures to make it more real. As per vol.1 the same thing, I currently use airsimmer's a320 and previously used PA (pretty good freeware+ awesome liveries!!)
