December 27, 200916 yr For what it is worth to 727 lovers:I have used (fsx_sp2_boeing_727-200.zip) by Alejendro Rojas Lucena with a panel from a source this old memory has forgotten for some time. The alternate panel contributed by Pasquale Rinaldi Dec. 25th is a big improvement IMHO (b727_fsx.zip in this site's library). There were a few tweaks necessary. The default airspeed, attitude, and altimeter would not work for me. It might be noted that a number of primary gauges were labeled as backup or secondary units although I doubt that this had anything to do with anything,I substituted the following for what it is worth:gauge00=isg1!EFS50_EADI for //gauge00=pr_727!attitudegauge01=isg1!EFS50_EHSI for //gauge01=pr_727!hsigauge02=737-400!Altimiter for //gauge02=pr_727!Altimetergauge03=737-400!Airspeed for gauge//03=pr_727!ias_backupIf you do not have the isg1!EFS50 gauges, applicable 737-400! gauges should do.Engine gauges are a bit hard to read, but I am not sure of anything to substitute that might be better for a three engine jet. It is difficult to find steam gauges for such an FSX application. Maximum monitor resolution helps. It is a long way from the excellent Dreamfleet 727 in FS9, but is about the best freeware combination I have seen for an FSX 727 contribution. If you are at all like me and not a purest, after a few heritic modifications of personal choice it is a nice bird and fun to fly. Thanks a lot Alejendro and Pasquale! Your contribution is appreciated.Respectfully:RTH
December 29, 200916 yr Author In the event that anybody is interested in this bird, editing the General EngineData portion of the aircraft.cfg, fuel burn to "fuel_flow_scale=0.950" will give a more realistic range relative to that specified in the "details" of this plane selection ("1,810 NM").Happy flying:RTH
December 29, 200916 yr Author Possibly a good idiea, but I have just about sworn off of Capt.Sim and opted to spend my money on other contributors with better reputations. I have their early version Boeing 757 (Modified to the LDS767 panel for such reasons I would think are obvious). I also have their C130 which I concede is a prize.Granted, there may be no comparison between the bird in question and the Capt. Sim version, but note that the bird and panel in question are freeware. Thanks for the reply.Respectfully:RTH Why not try the 'Captain Sim' version?

December 31, 200916 yr Author To each his own:My initial post was "For what it is worth". Sorry that is a disappointment for you.If you find a better freeware 727 combination of plane and panel for FSX, please post it.Respectfully:RTH I did ultimately find it, but was disappointed with the plane, panel and sound once loaded in FSX.B.
