This is not a subjective issue like "will my hardware run this".Either it was programmed or not. Since DirectX9 is required, I would think its being used.

From what I've been hearing, those shaders are being used in FS2k4. That's one area where the ATI cards really shine. That and implementation of 4xAA & 16xAF. I especially liked watching the water effects in Number 8. It does appear that powerful GPUs are going to be needed if you want to see all the eye candy. It'll be interesting.
