Usually sandwhiched between LCD monitors...and often only the "big 6".By "steam" I mean analog devices.No analog "big 6" type instruments on 787, A380 or the latest edition of 747-400. If you go back into history then yes, there will be mixtureof analog/digital instruments.It would make no sense for FAA to demand having analog backup instruments unless they were proven to be more reliable - we know they are not.
