AI traffic behavior

Featured Replies

Hello allForgive me if this was answered in another post.If an AI traffic vehicle is programed to fly, in a particular traffic bgl, and the AI vehicle isn't in the aircraft folder, does FS substitute another, available AI vehicle?I moved some of my AI planes to another folder, and when I started a flight I had an AI boat,(on land) where a helicopter should be.I put the helicopter back in and the AI boat was gone.Just wondered if this was normal AI behavior in FS. Thanks for any responses

No FS9 does not substitute.
I suppose I should have said I had pulled up the AI boat, that was appearing at the A/P, in the Traffic Toolbox utility,(explorer" tab), and deleted it. The boat disappeared, and didn't reappear on restart.I had put the AI helicopter's back in before a restart though.I've noticed, on occasion, boats flying,(with AI turned on) and doing a dive into the scene, (I've noticed it while flying over water, not sure about land), then they disappear.I don't have many AI packages, or vehicle's installed.I have a few that I've downloaded, and a few from Abacus software I have installed.I have a few invisible airports with AI I have created using AFCAD, and Ttools. The AI was exhibiting this behavior before that, though.I though, perhaps it was another file that might be compensating when the aircraft written into the scene wasn't present.Oh well, it just gives me something else to look at. Thanks for the response.

AFAIK, all the AI engine can do is look for the "title=" line of an aircraft.cfg file looking for a match. If not found the flight plan is ignored.scott s..

Thanks for your reply. The photo below show's the AI behavior I am talking about. It doesn't matter which airport I am at.It seems to happen once, with various AI vehicles, at any place I fly, then it stops this behavior.I have renamed the default traffic file to disable it.. traffic030528.org...no change. :(

I believe I have the strange AI behavior problem sorted out. Some time ago I reinstalled FS, and put an Abacus plane in, and forgot to register it.I found out when I was making a flight, a short while ago and saw a box flying! The box was different colors, and had, "Please register this Abacus plane", or something similar to that.I registered the plane, fs restarted, and the box was gone, and I haven't noticed any strange AI behavior.I wonder what file was modified when I didn't register to create this behavior... :( Just figured I'd post this info.

Today I installed MAIW Seymour Johnson AFB and went there to check it out. Parked at the end of the active runway, I watched an F-15E do a backflip and disappear into the taxiway. It was the 3rd in line and it never came back. I was like
