Undocking Instrument Panel - Problem with Some Planes ?

Featured Replies

Hi All...I wonder if anyone can help me please ?I use 2 monitors - 1 for scenery and 1 for instrument panel. I undock the instrument panel on the plane and put it on 2nd monitor. Its been working fine on most of the planes I have but for a plane I just downloaded the following is going on:The problem I am having is when I try to undock the instrument panel and drag it to the 2nd screen the whole scenery goes with it so all I did was put what was on the 1st screen to the 2nd screen. Funny that some planes are fine. I can't seem to undock the panel ONLY and drag it to 2nd monitor ???Anyone have any ideas please ?many thanks...JB

What is the filename and where did you get it?regards,Joe

I can't check right now for the correct syntax but this looks like the panel has render_3D_window (or something like this) set to 1. Try to set it to 0 in the Panel.cfg file.Expect some trouble though since whenever panel designer uses this setting, the panel usually doesn't look or even work well when undocked. A typical example would be a fighter with HUD - undocking and repositioning the panel renders the HUD useless.

Can you undock and drag the scenery only instead of the panel? If so, then reverse the monitors in Control Panel/Display/Settings.Alex Reid

Thanks all...the actual plane is the Fokker F28 Front line which can be downloaded at:http://fokker.avsim.net/F28.htmThanks for your help...JB

GrenoZee hit the nail on the head.open the panel.cfg located in ...FS9\Aircraft\PFJ Fokker F28-panel and look for...[Window00]file=PFJ-F28_MainPanel.bmprender_3d_window=1...change the 1 to a 0 (that's a zero, not an oh)and you should be good to go.regards,Joe
