January 20, 201016 yr Greetings all, Sometime ago I said goodbye to fs9 in favour of FSX, recently I reinstalled fs9 on another drive all was well as I had kept most of my payware fs9 downloads which included ASv6.5.I installed ASv6.5 and got it running opened fs9 then just about every airport in the world crashed, sometimes ctrl+alt+del worked OK but most of the time required a full computer reboot.I have limited addons some aircraft and MAIW packages, none of these caused the problem as it will happen at a default airport as well as Nellis AFB maxed out with aircraft for example.Flight Sim 2004 9.1 upgrade.Windows XP Pro.P4 3.2GHzNvidia 8 series GT 512 MB latest driverCreative sound Card.I do feel that this a fairly common fault Hifi Sim don't provide support for this problem, so if you guys can shed some light on this problem I will be very grateful.cheers,Dave.
January 20, 201016 yr Dave,IMO, AS6.5 and FS9 should be no problems.Have you run it prior on before FSX without a problem?Look in the Windows Event viewer on the last date an time of your failure.See what detailed information is there about the "module" that caused the failure. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
January 20, 201016 yr First run the free registry repair tool available here:http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=libraryThen uninstall and reinstall AS 6.5 in case it read the incorrect registry information when it installed. It installs in your FS9/modules folder. Then for FS9 be sure you have the latest FSUIPC from here (3.96 today):http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlThat also uses registry information.See if that helps at all.The only other thing I can think of off-hand is an atc.dll error having to do with comm frequencies when using an add-on ATC application on or off-line. I'll tell you the fix if you need it.Make sure you do not have any FSX scenery objects in some library folder common to both.
January 21, 201016 yr Well First of all thank you very much for your replys, nothing so far has worked, Jim I'm sorry I don't know what you mean, could you please be more explicit.Again thank you,Dave.
January 21, 201016 yr Dave, I don't know what you mean, could you please be more explicitI'll speak for Jim on that. In your FS9 settings Display options find the Rendure to Texture and check or uncheck it (make it the opposite to what you have now).
January 21, 201016 yr Hi Rafal,Well after the years I have had fs9 I didn't know Rendure to Texture existed, anyway I unchecked it and tried again, mostly good news all new Airports/Military Base's work fine with ASv running, but my saved files fail as before so I will start again with saving as the old ones are probably corrupt. Thanks very much to all who replied and Jim Rafal for the fix even though I was a bit slow on the uptake.Cheers,Dave.
