How do you fuel planes in FSX?

Featured Replies

Guys, to some reason I hate to go to Fuel and Payload menu in FSX to adjust the required fuel for flights and I do miss Fuel Loader utility that I always used in FS9. There are some good utilities and dedicated loaders available for adjusting the payload externally for FSX. I prefer though the old good ACLoader for that (and again it used to be a perfect match with Fuel Loader in FS9). Do you know of any utility or method to adjust fuel outside of FSX? The best I can think of is saving full load situation and then just dumping fuel to the required level in a controlled manner (looking at MFD fuel page etc., have never done though, does it work this way?), or somehow editing fuel quantity manually after calculations of the fuel required for the flight right before starting FSX. Please share your ideas and techniques here. Many thanks,Dirk.

Three things that are useless to a pilot:1 The air above you2 The runway behind you3 The fuel you didn't put in the tanksI always take full fuel! :(

Noted.I usually fly airliners so it's not realistic mostly.Thanks,Dirk.

Hi,A few weeks ago, a question was asked about this in another forum here, about help to develop such an addon. I helped out, and created an app to load fuel and payload into the plane. It is highly experimental, and I can't guarantee it is bug free (I can almost guarantee the opposite), but if you want to try it out, check out

I have ACLoader and it works in FSX. It's written for both FS9 and FSX. Works great!Art Schwartz, Jr.

It's great but doesn't load fuel, does it?Dirk.

Of course it does. Read the manual.Art Schwartz, Jr.

I think I recall you need to remove some saved flight or some data to be able to set the fuel. Otherwise I get only recommended quantity in the print. Would you pls give more details on how you preset and inject fuel in FSX from ACLoader? By any chance anyone's got ACLoader profile for E-190?Much thanks,Dirk.

Dirk: I want to apologize for telling you that ACLoader injects fuel into your aircraft, I think I misunderstood your question. I always do everything manually after generating my load from the report because I don't like writing to the aircraft.cfg files from ACLoader. After reading the manual over again I realized that ACLoader will write your load to the aircraft.cfg file if you use the write .cfg option but will only suggest how fuel you need then you will have to manually load the fuel yourself. I know for some that may be a pain if you are flying a complicated jetliner as they have a bunch of fuel tanks and figuring out how to spread out the amount to all the various fuel tanks. I don't know of a program that will do that for you unless you are using a payware plane which might, as some do, provide a fuel loader with that aircraft. Again, sorry for the misinformation. If used correctly though, ACLoader is a great program and has been right on most of the time for me.Art Schwartz, Jr.

Sometimes I just turn on Unlimited Fuel. Fuel weight is still calculated, but if you wanted a specific weight, you could empty the tanks, fly Unlimited, and then just adjust payload. Again, not realistic, but it makes it easier to fly scenarios where you need to keep tabs on the weight. Jeff ShylukSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM

Gguys,DarkCharizma has already created a utility for refueling your plane from another PC (see above). Now I do it from my laptop over LAN after all calculations. Works perfect.Thanks,Dirk.
