January 30, 201016 yr Hi guys,This has been happening on my machine forever but I don't think I have ever taken the time to ask about it.First, I have a 1 core system Pentium 4, and nVidia GeForce 7600GS AGP. Not so high end, but I still get nice smooth stuff in the PMDG 747-400 cockpit at a default scenery airport. HOWEVER, with all planes, whenever I have the mouse over the 'simulation aera' (meaning inside the FS window. I run window mode, maximized BUT I have 2 screens so I often rest my mouse on the other screen), the game's FPS drops badly. This doesn't really affect the frame rate in default planes, because it drops from 32 or so to 25, which really doesn't show. However, with the PMDG or other high end planes, it drops from around 22 (which looks pretty smooth panning around) to about 12-13. The difference with the mouse on or off is pretty huge.I use ActiveCamera, and I used to (until yesterday) use the middle mouse button (push and hold) to pan the view around the cockpit. However I now have to use the hat switch on my joystick (a bit less smooth) otherwise the FPS is down when the mouse is on the screen.I am using the default windows XP cursor if that matters, no fancy animated stuff. Thanks!Phil Philippe Hewett"It's not a bug, it's an undocumented feature."
January 30, 201016 yr There was some talk on Pete Dowson's forum about mouse lag with PMDG a/c. Try installing the 3.966 interim version of FSUIPC (instal 3.96 first) and see if that helps) http://forums.simflight.com/viewforum.php?f=54 Peter Schluter

I do have a 'FSUIPC' in the modules menu but I didn't buy it so I suppose it isn't registered. Also I doesn't just happen with PMDG, but I'll try anyway.ThanksPhil Philippe Hewett"It's not a bug, it's an undocumented feature."
February 1, 201016 yr A few of the members around here and I have had a few topics opened on this subject, please search for those to see what has been discussed.Long story short, nothing you can do about it, it's a problem with fs9 itself. It happens when the cursor is visible in the 3D (read, VC) environment. It's noticeable in planes like the PMDG because they are much harder on your system. My solution is to keep an unimportant 2d window very small in the corner and rest my mouse there when I don't need it. - Red E8500 @ 4.1 | EVGA 275GTX (overclocked) | 2x2GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline @ 1066 | Samsung 24inch LCD @ 1920x1080 |
February 1, 201016 yr Author Thanks red, good idea. I actually have 2 screens so resting my mouse on the other non-fs9 one removes the lagging. And yes I had forgot to mention this is only in the 3D cockpit. Thanks! Philippe Hewett"It's not a bug, it's an undocumented feature."
