January 31, 201016 yr hi all,ok my first post after years of reading :( im stuck on which would be best to buy out of these 2 scenerys, the first 1 is Tongrass fjords xhttp://www.avsim.com/pages/0909/FSAddon/TongassX.htmthe 2nd is Papua New Guinea scenery by pacific islands simulations http://www.avsim.com/pages/0609/PNG/Bushpilot.htmOk so their the 2 im stuck on, now about what type of flying i like to do and in which aircraft,I only fly GA aircraft, A2A cub/p47, Realair Duke 600, Dodosims 206, L-39, and a few others but they are the main ones, i much prefer flying in mountain areas landing in small bush strips, taking supplys in etc. Both packages seam to give me what i want for my money, Tongrass looks more professional better models etc but PNG looks more like it has the airfields and approches im after, both have wildlife which is a plus. i like seaplanes and small helipads,so i put it to you guys here to spend my money so be nice :( ok my specs are;amd 6000+ 64bit duel core 3.1 gig6 gb ramnvidia gts250 1 gig cardhow will they run? what i dont want is to have to scale back what i buy to get fps back and lose the effects iv bought, png seams to run well on fps, tongrass i dont no? which will have a longer life and have the most fun in?in the end which is the best 1?RegardsDave.
January 31, 201016 yr PNG will run a bit better...but get the TongassX scenery. It's simply stunning and has all of the features you're looking for. And with those GA planes you prefer, it should run fine on your rig. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual

I have both and while both are good, the main problem I have with the PNG one is that I always have shadows enabled and the way it was designed, the trees cast weird shadows (should have been disabled when designing them) and it kills the experience for me, otherwise, very cool scenery. January 31, 201016 yr That, to me, is an impossible choice. You have to get both of them. They are both wonderful in their own ways. TongassX definitely gets the nod for the most visually stunning scenery package ever. TongassX doesn't just do airports, it does every square inch of the area. It's amazing. On the other hand, PNG Bush Pilot has a lot more land strips, lots of fun scenery, animations and environmental stuff. Much of the flying in TongassX is float plane operations, and I notice you didn't mention any floats except the J3. Many of the airports in PNG are too short for the Duke. It really works best with planes like the Quest Kodiak and the Twin Otter, planes with great STOL and lots of power for higher altitude operations. Some of those mountains in PNG are as tall as the Rockies. Lose not thine airspeed, lest the ground rise up and smite thee.

DaveFly from Wrangell up the Stikine River and see how many galciers you can count, fly and land at Telegraph Creek awesome. Another good flight is around Sitka and see if you can spot the "Customs" boat and the luxury liner. I wrote a review of TongassX over on Simflight which describes a lot of its features, and I believe that there is also a good review here at Avsim. Another set of flights ais ts to find all of the cabins - some are very difficult to spot. I have PNG too - very good and they have now released Tuvalu so will have to look at buying that!
