January 31, 201016 yr Commercial Member Using RC4.3 and FSUIPC4 4.57i'm not an asa expert, but make sure that asa is configured correctly. maybe an rcv4 and asa user can walk through the proper settings.rc can only read the weather from fs, so if rc is wrong, then fs is wrong, and asa isn't configured quite right.jd JD Read my blog
January 31, 201016 yr Active Sky Advanced is my weather engine. RC4, however, is reading wx data from FSX.How do I get RC4 to read ASA wx?Thanks, zachI run ASA, FSX, and RC4.3 and it works. ASA feeds FS and RC talks to FS. I start FSX, then ASA, then It's your plane, then RC4. As is mentioned here make sure you give ASA time to start, then let it feed the weather to FS and finally give FS time to figure things out. One thing to check on is that ASA is using the sim time. Also, uncheck the VATSIM online weather checkbox. I also set automatic downloads to 5 minutes. For testing start ASA First, let it get setup and set it to track sim time. Then start FSX and not RC4. In ASA load the flight plan. Go to the map page and set the track FS checkbox. In FSX (make it the active window by clicking on it) you should see a green text line that says ASA has initialized the weather. Somebody posted a tip on the forum that you can advance the FS time by a minute and it will refresh - that does work.

Started FSX FIRST, then ASA. I think this was the big change. These changes seem to have forced ASA wx into FSX "current weather".This made the big change for me. I will work on the RC4 later.Super thanks, zach Digital Storm, Win 7 64-bit, Intel i5 4690k (OC 4.5 GHz), ASRock Z97, FSX Gold, two Dell monitors, 1x Samsung 500GB DDR, PC 8GB DDR3 (1866), RC4, DX10 Fixer,nVidia Inspector tuned by FSX DX10 "How To" Guide, nVidia GeForce GTX 970 (4GB),Opus, GEX, UTX, UT2, REX (4, Soft, Airports) FS Global 2008, PMDG JS41 & 737NGX, 750W Corsair

There is also the Refresh button on ASA. I used it tonight but I was flying with weather from earlier this month.
February 1, 201016 yr It has been my long term understanding from both the HifiSim (ASA) and RC forums (fora, I know) that you really need to open (start) ASA before FSX and give it time to update the wx in flight sim after your open your specific flight. This process can take as much as five (5) minutes by my actual timing and is very important for both flight sim and RC. I have left that green line message option active so that I can see when the wx is properly loaded. Note, seeing the first line of text only indicates that ASA is beginning the wx initialization procedure. You need to see the message that clearly says the wx initialization is complete.
