I really need help

Featured Replies

Hi all. I think I do a lot of things wrong because I can't make the soft working properly at all. First of all, note that I don't think that it can be a technical problem. My PC is high end and works perfectly, the voice recognition causes no problem (everything I say appears in the green bar) and I don't have other addon which can interfere. I also have to precise that before my first tries, I've read 4 or 5 times all the FS2Crew documents with great caution and that I really know the Maddog quite well. I fly only it since years. To finish, I've been trying all this morning long (5 tries) to do my first flight without success. Here are my questions: - To do well, whereas it is optional according to page 6 of the manual, I've always tried to use the START button to do the PREFLIGHT EVENTS because of point 8 of the APPENDIX B and because I haven't read any explanations about how not doing PREFLIGHT EVENTS. (By The way, how should we do?) - Once, when asking "HYDRAULIC PRESSURE PLEASE", the FO answered "yes" but didn't do it. Later on, he did but didn't answer anything. - Once, after the PRE-FLIGHT Procedure Complete, the F/O answered "YES" to "ARE YOU READY FOR DEPARTURE BRIEF" and "NO QUESTIONS" to "ANY QUESTIONS?" but it didn't happen the other times: my question stayed without reaction. - Whatever I did, I never been able to go further that point. "PRE START CHECK BELOW THE LINE" never lead to anything despite the sentence was recognized and all my communications with the ground were OK. Can someone help me? I'm sure I miss something important and I would be so glad to use this unique and fantastic soft with my unique and favorite plane. Best flights, Cyril Murat FCY-MC

Hi Cyril:Thanks for the great questions:1. The "START" button on the Pre-Flight events. Only press start if you want the pre-departure events to happen (like the doors opening and closing, FO doing his pre-flight setup flow, engineer and FA's coming into talk to you).If time is tight, don't press 'START' and just setup the plane yourself. In fact, to avoid confusion, I think I'm going to rename START to "RUN PRE-FLIGHT EVENTS SECTION". That would be more clear. So what do you do if you don't want to press 'START'?It's simple: Just continue normally. You can still run all the checklists and all the associated flows will work.I do this all the time to save time if I'm in a hurry. To summarize, pressing START is completely 'optional'.2. Hydraulic pressure please: I programmed it so the command only works while the aircraft is on the ground. Perhaps you asked for it while you were airborne? I'll let Samuli explain why you'd only use it on the ground as he flies the thing for real.3. Departure brief twice: Make sure the mode is either in BEFORE START or PRE START. Also, make sure you're not "RESETTING" the flight. 4. Important: We've found that RESETTING the flight can cause the FO's audio to stop playing. So you could call for a checklist, but you won't hear anything. If you're going to reset your flight, I suggest reloading FSX/FS9 so it starts clean.5. For the 'PRE START CHECKLIST BELOW THE LINE" checklist to work, and any other checklist, make sure you're in the right Mode as display in the FS2Crew Main Panel. You can't, for example, call for the 'BEFORE START CHECKLIST" if the mode displays Takeoff.Best,

Hi Cyril:Thanks for the great questions:
And thanks for a so quick answer. But sorry to let you know my problems aren't all resolved.

OK. I've tryied to don't do the Pre-Flight and I've eared my very first FS2Crew c/l
2. Hydraulic pressure please: I programmed it so the command only works while the aircraft is on the ground. Perhaps you asked for it while you were airborne? I'll let Samuli explain why you'd only use it on the ground as he flies the thing for real.
Yes, I know it very well. I only ask for it to have pressure in parking brake before the engine driven pumps are on. But I've NEVER been airborn with FS2Crew ;) So it wasn't it. My last tries: Pushing "START", during the preflight operations, the F/O answered "OK" but didn't do anything. Maybe she had to much work with other buttons... I tried to do it without the Pre flight and it just worked well.
3. Departure brief twice: Make sure the mode is either in BEFORE START or PRE START. Also, make sure you're not "RESETTING" the flight...I suggest reloading FSX/FS9 so it starts clean.
I never reset the flight. I always start from the beggining. By the way, any preferences between-> start a FS situation with the Maddog-> start a situation with the C172 and load the Maddog-> something elses? Thanks for all and good flights.Cyril

Hi Cyril,So if you say exactly: "PRE START CHECK BELOW THE LINE" with the FS2Crew Mode set to "PRE START B", you should hear the FO reply: "Pre Start Check below the line... Covers and Pins:"Do you see 'PRE START CHECK BELOW THE LINE' in the Green Text Bar?If so, it means the speech recognition system is correctly detecting the phrase. However, if you don't hear the FO's voice reply what you just said, it means something is not setup right. If you don't hear the FO, please do this:1. Ensure your HS (HEADSET) on the FS2Crew Main panel is set to OFF.The FO's voice should then come through the Main Speakers. If you don't hear anything through your Main Speakers, then check your audio hardware setup and make sure no cables are crossed.I also assume you ran the Voice Training?Regarding preferential startup...It shouldn't matter, but to be on the safe side I recommend loading the default Cessna first and not using a saved situation file... but you shouldn't need to that. But try it anyway.Best,

Hi Cyril,Good stuff! We beta tested the Maddog version to death, so I'm sure we can get you up and running.Best,

Ah, thats the reason why sound didn't work for me yesterday. ^^ I had to reset the flight since first when i came to the cockpit, i opened the FS2crew window, and after reading some of the flow chart, it said NOW you can open the window, for FO to work properly. reset -> no sound. Tought my headset had something wrong. ^^

I've identified the source of the 'reset' issue... hot fix will be out soon.Cheers,

Hi Cyril,Maybe you are doing some Preflight actions that are assigned to the FO in FS2crew before your press START on the main panel ?If you intend to use the FO's preflight flow by clicking on start, you need to power the aircraft as described in the manual page 24, item 1 to 7.Then you click START.What you need to do then, is to setup the FMS and FCP (speed 250, mach 075, altitude, heading, banking indicator) don't arm any lateral or vertical mode yet.Perform Emergency light test with the FA.enter flight datas in the flight recorder.Set landing elevation and QNH on the pressurization panel.set speed bugs on the ASI and altimeters bugs.
