February 26, 201016 yr Im thinking about getting the Reality XP's GNS 430 or 530 GPS and putting it into some of my Carenado planes. Specifically the Archer II. Ive never edited a panel before. Is it hard to do? Does it just add it as a pop-up panel or does it show up in the VC as well? Are there any tutorials around for doing this? Thanks for any advice.Rob
February 26, 201016 yr No it's not really hard to do. Make sure the panel does not have 3D knobs. I can't remember if the Archer does or not. I have the GNS430W in my Seneca and Arrow. The edits were fairly straightforward. All you do is find a good spot for it and copy and past the new gauge name where the old one once was.For instance, you'll want to find the Vcockpit section and here's two lines from my Arrow edit//gauge14=FsGpsCarenado2!gps_500, 274, 3 ,155,130gauge14=rxpGNS!GNS430, 274, 60 ,150,70gauge 14 the original is replaced by RXP's unit, and in this case I edited the size and shape of the gauge to fit the panel (four numbers)Here's a quick n dirty pic of the Seneca... its an older pic, because I deleted the default gps completely now | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
