Single Engine Taxi

Featured Replies

Bryan, single engine taxi in a prop is pretty tricky. Turning is the problem, for example if you shut down right engine then turning right is a breeze but turning left into the powered engine is going to be difficult. At least that is my experience, in the C414 the only way to turn into the running engine is to speed the taxi up then pull the throttle way back to reduce idle thrust and roll around on momentum. I don't know if this can be done in FSX, I'll have to give it a try. Maybe the beta/reverse feature would be necessary. Maybe Nick has experience this.EDIT: She controls very easy. With right side stopped, condition in ground/taxi, she pushes to the right realistically but easily turns left with 45% torque on the left prop. I don't know how realistic that is, but then I don't think taxi, friction and things like that are MSFS best simulations either.
