Autopilot trim problem

Featured Replies

Guys,I love the j41 but this issue has kept me from using it for a while. With the release of PNW, I would really like to start using the aircraft for shorter hops. The problem that I have is when the autopilot is ON, trimming the plane manually will disconnect the autopilot which makes perfect sense. However, if I want to increase or decrease my vertical speed using the small trim wheel next to the autopilot buttons, I can click on it using my mouse but the little trim wheel will start spinning out of control either up or down.Naturally, this makes using the autopilot pretty difficult. I was hoping there was a thread somewhere that I missed that might have fixed this issue.

Hi Scott, Please sign your full name per forum rules, thanks. To change the V/S you wouldn't do it by trim by the way :(

I think he means the pitch thumbwheel on the a/p panel. A single click should make a +/- 100ft change if in VS mode.

Correct. The pitch thumbwheel is the one going nuts when I click it a few times.

Well, it's not a known bug and yours is the first report of this problem since RTM. At least this helps you by pointing you in the direction of your configuration. Is the AP pitch wheel the only control that misbehaves? Try opening the AP 2D window to see if the control behaves the same way. I'm not a very good hardware/configuration reference, maybe someone else has run into this.EDIT: I just notice your "I click it a few times," try either clicking it slower or using the mouse wheel if you have one. There is a control that I can 'overcontrol' (landing altitude) and I have to show a little restraint.

I have a question semi-related: What is "PNW"?

I tried clicking very slowly but the same thing happens.

Well, what can I say. You have a unique problem that no one in the forum for the past four days has volunteered a solution. Maybe time for a trouble ticket but I urge you to look at your setup/hardware/configuration for the solution. It is a unique problem.
