PNW Portland

I love this scenery! One thing I do miss though and it isnt the FTX developers fault, is that terrific Flightzone scenery. Those airports that were done are to this day masterpieces. It is a shame the developer had to stop making scenery. I hope all is well with him. Anyway too much great stuff to see in the PNW so back to exploring.

Andrew, some developers who never stopped creating for FSX are on the case. Hang tight. :(

Bill - JohnV mentioned that PDX will be done as a separate project, to be released 2011 or 12. This tells me that you and Holger have already started working on PDX.... Is that so?

Agreed. Nothing that has been made to this day in fsx compares to flight scenery portland kpdx and pearson field and the other 2 ga airports in fs9. orbx comes very close but still no cigar imo. i cant wait for orbx to release these airports if they decide to do them.

The FlightZone02 scenery is the best thing you can get for FS9, I completely agree. Redoing KPDX for FSX, however, means we can take advantage of technology that didn't exist when Stephane did his FS9 version, including much higher resolution ground imagery (among other things). Like FZ, this is going to take some time to produce. Anyone who is chomping at the bit to see the Orbx version should go enjoy some other part of the PNW for a while. Rest assured, once we have info to share, we will let you guys know. :(

Check out this site. You can incorporate the Portland scenery to FSX fairly successfully and it looks pretty good. I don't have PNW but I bet if you place it above PNW in the scenery library it should still work. Someone should try and report back.http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/show...hlight=portland

Man, just drooling thinking about it Bill. I made a high res ground for Portland Troutdale (my fav from FZ) a few months back and it looked fantastic, can't wait to see what you guys come up with.

Best, Michael

I'm downloading reams of great hi-res ground for a couple of Portland airports right now. There's some really great stuff available.
