747-8i Repaints

Featured Replies

I seem to be having some difficulties with a 747-8i repaint. I downloaded the Air New Zealand repaint this evening. After installing it and opening FSX I get the message;"There are multiple objects with the same title name. They must have unique title names. PMDG 747-8i QantasSimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG747-400"I'm able to click 'cancel' and the message goes away. However, the ANZ 747-8i does not show up in FSX when selecting an aircraft. I've gone into SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG747-400 and found the following texture folders (amonst others). texture.NZtexture.NZ8itexture.QFtexture.QF2 (this is the Wunala repaint)texture.QF8iNo folders have the same title. I ran the installer again, this time clicking on 'repair'. The problem remained. I then uninstalled the ANZ 8i repaint. The problem was fixed as I had no message. I downloaded the PMDG_744-8i_NZ repaint again, installed it and found the problem returned. Is there some simple solution to this? Is there some connection between the ANZ repaint and the Qantas repaint? Many thanks,Bruce RossNew Zealand

Hi Bruce, is it possible that there are doubled entries in the aircraft.cfg that may cause this error? br, alexander roithmair

Best regards,

If I remember well there was a mistake in the installer of the ANS that entried the relevant part in the aircraft.cfg as a Quantas, so the simulator sees two Quantas liveries, although one of them actually links to the ANZ file.Open your aircraft.cfg with wordpad and find the ANZ entry. Quantas must be written somewhere there, so just change it into Air New Zealand and that's it!I do not have access now so I cannot be more detailed.

Thank you to both of you who replied. I went into the aircraft.cfg and the last two aircraft entries were identical. Both referred to Qantas. I changed the last one to Air Zealand and everything now works fine. There were four differant entries I had to change. Perhaps PMDG need to note that they have made a slight blue with the Air New Zealand repaint .cfg file and need to change it before someone else pulls their hair out like I did. This is a realistic repaint so thank you PMDG for that.I appreciate the help.Bruce Ross
