March 16, 201016 yr Hi,I'm learning how to use FMC (FMS) and programmed a flight described in manual.Takeoff seems to be ok, but then my plaine is flying in the 'runway direction' , no turn as I have programmed. It climbed to 10000 ft, but then goes down until I desable the AP and turn it up again. It looks like the AP or the F-Plan is no more activeI made a screen shot. Does anybody has an idea, what my mistake is :( Thanks in advanceRuedi Ruedi Burkhard

Post screens of the FMC because without those, we can't tell what you did or did not do.3. Why only one waypoint? What about the rest of the plan? Did you do a plan from departure airport to arrival destination? 4. Auto pilot to be activated AFTER take-off at about 1000' above ground level. Looks like AP is disengaged.5. Please Read The Manual!!!Jim Dow
March 17, 201016 yr I would say read the manual but there is also a lot to learn on youtube. Go there and type in . There are quite a few videos on how to work the FMC. One in particular has about 7 parts to it going into great detail on this.Chris Porter

March 17, 201016 yr Author Hi Jim and Chris,- I have downloaded the videos to work with it- I will check your tipps and poste the FMC if the error still exists- I have created the FP as described in the PMDG Manual (... I hope ... )More infos will follows in each case. Ruedi Burkhard
March 17, 201016 yr On your ND Control Panel your selector is on PLAN. That is a preview mode preflight to check out your route normally and is not required that it be in MAP mode but MAP mode would be the norm I think for take-off and near the airport for landing. You want to see where you are now.I don't see either Autopilot CMD A or CMD B engaged which is the main issue if you want pitch and steering control automatically. If you had CMD A or B engaged and moved/bump your yoke or stick it would disengage. Other disengagement would occur if the aircraft experienced maneuvering beyond its capacity such as in turbulence or excessive vertical drafts beyond the autopilot's correction range. You should insure elevator trim is set for take-off. Also CMD A or B will not engage while on the ground in the 737 I believe. It also must be on for MCP guided control as in HDG and ALT. CMD A or B couples the Flight Director portion to the maneuvering control system for it to actually fly the aircraft.Another consideration is if you engage CMD A or B but the angle to intercept the flight path plotted is too great, you have to use manual or MCP HDG to steer the aircraft into a reasonable intercept to the top waypoint in LEGS Page 1 for HNAV to engage. On your PFD you've got HNAV and ALT-HOLD ARMED but not engaged since neither CMD button is enabled.I'm a bit rusty right now but I'm sure someone here will correct any errors in my statements.
March 21, 201016 yr Author Hi to all, On your PFD you've got HNAV and ALT-HOLD ARMED but not engaged since neither CMD button is enabled. That's was the reason. My fault was:I have enabled CMD A button to activate the AP, then used the 'Disengaged' switch for Turn off and Turn ON again the AP.But this doesn't work :( as you described. After then, I could do a flight programmed on FMC. Except the arrival part. But I will hopefully still create that also. Therefore I close this case. Thanks to all for help. Ruedi Burkhard
