March 17, 201016 yr Good day all,I'm having a fiddle with some of the AFCAD textures...Does anyone know what file is used by AFCAD for "Water"?Thanks in advance.

If so, the "water" feature in afcad won't work for you. There's a whole procedure to trick FS into thinking the water is a regular a/p. Floatplane ai actually use the existing water textures...not afcad...or do I not understand your question?
March 17, 201016 yr Hi,Wrong forum - try the Scenery forum.Hope this helps, Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page

I've never even heard of doing that in afcad, but I'd be interested to know if someone has. No one in my group does water textures with afcad. If he's looking for info about it PM me and I can put him in touch with one of our designers whose worked with them.

I'll have to pass that on to the team...Thanks Dave.

One could probably figure it out, however, scenery designers do water edits with SBuilder. Try it out. Much more detail and one can customize the texture for each created scenery rather than changing FS default water textures which would affect all sceneries in FS. There are many programs out there that have taken months to design FS default water textures. If you want to use your customized ones, learn to use SBUILDER. March 19, 201016 yr Author Appreciate the reply, Jim.I'm pursuing this in the Scenery Design Forums - it appears that the water file is water.r8But no-one seems to be able to work on it or convert it to a bmp !
March 19, 201016 yr Hi,Perhaps it is compressed (43K instead of 64K). If so, this is the only program that I know of that will open such files:R8WORX 0.91at:http://www.simtakeoff.com/design3.htmMake sure you put it in its own folder (along with the texture) and make sure the path to the program consists of folder names with no more than 8 characters (semi-DOS program).Hope this helps, Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page

March 20, 201016 yr FYI - that link is broken. To clarify:I should have said the link to the web site is OK but the link on the website to the file in question is broken.
