March 19, 201016 yr I often hear very bad things about captain sim. I have yet to purchase any of their aircraft so have no idea how well or not so well made their products are, although the C-130 looks good.So in reading alll the negative posts on this developer, one has to ask how such a bad developer(assuming) end up with a t-shirt on the ISS? March 19, 201016 yr Author Hello,One can ask ....Had you readed all the positives posts .... :( Regards.Gus.All that stick out for me were the not so good ones when talking captain sim.Ill go do some research though, maybe I am misinformed on peoples opinion about captainsim.P.S I edited my original post because all the typo's I made, my god I have to start puting some effort into this :( P.S.S To captain sim personel on here, if there are any, I am in no way bad mouthing your products, as I do not own any, so have no idea. I don't think you would be dissappointed with either. I like the C-130 the best, but the 757 has some pretty neat things. I have never had problems with support.....I would rate both these acrft as some of the best out there.
March 19, 201016 yr Some people seem to have difficulties with Captain Sim, but I've personally never had any major issues with their stuff. As far as their products are concerned, I have their FS9 Boxed version of the Boeing 727, and download versions of their FS9 Boeing 707 and Lockheed C-130, as well as download versions of their FSX Boeing 757 and Weather Radar. I rate all of those add-ons very highly too. Captain Sim occasionally have sales for their download stuff, where you can pick up things very inexpensively, so if you are not sure about their products, you could always wait for one of those to occur and pick up something at a bargain price, then evaluate it yourself. The one thing I have found with Captain Sim stuff, is that you have to ensure any FS Service Updates are installed properly, or you can have issues with things not working well. This is especially true for FSX.As with most things, it tends to be when people have problems with stuff that they get vocal on forums, and of course that can lead to an occasionally false impression that stuff is dodgy when it isn't necessarily the case. I'm not claiming that nobody has ever had a legitimate problem with Captain Sim that was anything other than their own fault, but as I say, I've never personally had any issues with their stuff, and I tend to go off the evidence I have, rather than complaints I read on forums.Their FSX Boeing 757 is a real frame rate hog though, that is one thing I can tell you for sure.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
March 19, 201016 yr how such a bad developer(assuming) end up with a t-shirt on the ISS?Well, it was commander Romanenko who got it into space with Soyuz TMA-15.I guess CaptainSim, due to their original nationality, would have many more problems sending it there with Endeavour. :( A great idea for advertisement if you ask me. You can't get higher, can you.As for their products, people's opinions vary, as it usually is.I only have their FS9 757, as it was finaly sold as cheap as chips. In the visual aspects, it is a masterpiece, no doubt. They care about incredible details. But the product is lacking in other areas, so I would personally never level it with Leonardo, DA, LVLD or PMDG.
March 19, 201016 yr As many said, basically there products are not bad. There are some anomalies here and there in the systems, but if you don't demand ultra realistic PMDG stuff, then Captain Sim is not for you. Personally, I like their FS9 707 very much, and all the other products I have by them also appeal to me. I just stopped using most of them because I found planes I liked better...
