March 21, 201016 yr My problem is I just installed Win 7 Ultimate 64bit on one drive and now I'm trying to install FSX on a second drive but im getting the following message stating: "CAN NOT INSTALL ON A ROOT DRIVE" Both drives are formatted, I don't recall this problem with XP.
March 21, 201016 yr Are you trying to install into a subdir on the second drive, or at the root of the second drive? The installer won't let you install to D:\ but should let you install to something like D:\FSX.Tim Tim http://fsandm.wordpress.com
March 21, 201016 yr Ideally, the error message should then read '... into a root directory'.Siggy Siggy Schwarz

(D:FSX) at first tried to install to the root of my second drive (D:). ThanksDon
March 22, 201016 yr Moderator You could have simply typed in the path "D:\FSX" in the installer's box and the folder would have been created for you... ;) Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
