Can't get FSX to install to second hard drive?

Featured Replies

My problem is I just installed Win 7 Ultimate 64bit on one drive and now I'm trying to install FSX on a second drive but im getting the following message stating: "CAN NOT INSTALL ON A ROOT DRIVE" Both drives are formatted, I don't recall this problem with XP.

Are you trying to install into a subdir on the second drive, or at the root of the second drive? The installer won't let you install to D:\ but should let you install to something like D:\FSX.Tim

Ideally, the error message should then read '... into a root directory'.Siggy

That was it Tim, I needed to create a folder on that drive first. (D:FSX) at first tried to install to the root of my second drive (D:). ThanksDon

You could have simply typed in the path "D:\FSX" in the installer's box and the folder would have been created for you... ;)
