April 2, 201016 yr When I use ASX for a weather program and X Graphics for texture, this what always happens. Even though X Graphics may show a theme such as absolute, saturation, default, etc. a theme called custom is always loaded into the sim. After setting a texture in X, I download the weather using ASX. , enter a fightplan in ASX. Right after ASX says the plan is okat it asks me if I would like to install X. I answer yes. No matter what them is specified in X, custom is installed. If I don't use ASX for weather but instead use FSX or the Internet the texture theme in X is loaded into the sim. Somewhere in all this I gone off the tracks. Can anyone till me what I am doing wrong. Maybe it the order I am using. Thank youMichael CubineThe title should include ASX not ASE, SooryMichael Cubine Michael Cubine
April 2, 201016 yr Moderator Unless I'm missing the point here, ANY theme that you load will show as "custom" because it IS a custom theme. If you load a preset theme from within FSX without using ASX, it will show the theme name.HTH,Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

At that time X closes and FSX comes upon the screen. I would then select a weather theme from FSX which would (I think) combine with the texture selected in X. When I am done with the flight and call X back up the theme loaded is the one I installed into FSX. I have never seen an FSX weather name listed among the themes in X.ThanksMike Cubine Michael Cubine
April 3, 201016 yr Hi Mike,A few things:1. X Graphics is textures only, with no weather data. So the name of the theme from XG that you use will never show up anywhere in FSX.2. If you are going to use ASX to chose textures then you don't run XG at all. Just process a plan and answer "yes" as you have been. If you were to now open XG, yes it would say "custom". If you want to use a specific XG theme, then answer "no" after processing a plan in ASX.3. If you are going to use FSX weather, then run XG before starting FSX and submit a texture theme or textures that you chose. Then run FSX. Again, the name of the texture theme is not going to show up anywhere in FSX.4, No, using a weather theme or weather data from FSX will not chose the textures from XG. One, XG is not programmed like that and two, once FSX is started, textures cannot be changed for that particular session.I hope this clears up any confusions! If not, ask and I'll be glad to help.

The problem starts when I try to use ASX as the engine and XG as the texture. Here are the steps I have been using:1. In XG under load theme absolute is listed2. Just for laughs, I update it even though I have made no changes3. I click on Install theme4. A progress bar appears indiccating that absolute is being installed5. I get a message saying absolute was installed and I click ok6. I click X to close XG. What happens next is not dependent on XG being open or closed.7. Click ASX icon on desktop. Main screen indicates download active, line items parsed, and then synthesis active8. I specify flightplan, I receive a message saying FP was successful and I click ok.9. The next message asks if I would like to install XG textures10. I click yes and a progress bar appears indicating that custom is being installed.Where did custom come from? Everything I have seen was taking about absolute. When the flight is over and FSX and ASX are closed, if I click on the XG icon the main screen comes up with absolute under load theme. What am I or the program doing wrong?ThanksMike Cubine Michael Cubine

I had a fight from KDEN to KORD setup when I read your suggestion. Between Denver and Chicago its hard to see any changes except the sky was a bright blue compared to the greenish sky in custom. Bright blue sky is a characteristic of absolute. It will just take more testing. I am going from KJFK to KMIA tonight. The ocean and inland water should tell the tale.ThanksMike Cubine Michael Cubine
