FS 2004 Wilco 737 Saitek X52 Controller Issues

Featured Replies

Hi, I did quite a bit of searching and could not find anything here.I have a Saitek X52. Most everything in MSFS 2004, and Wilco PIC 737 are able to be mapped. I cannot seem to map the Autothrottle Arm Switch, to ANYTHING on my Joystic. First, I disabled the Keyboard stroke is Shift R. After reading posts, I disabled that in hopes mapping the joystick would take over. To no avail.I assigned the AThrottle Arm Toggle to a number of different buttons and switches on the X52. I still have no control over that switch, via the X52.I finally downloaded a registered copy of FSUIPC version 3.08 (Version for FS9) and tried to re-assign the switch there. I even attempted a macro. At present I have to use the mouse to reach up and turn the AThrottle Arm Switch off so to speak. I really would like this switch on my joystick. If you perform and engine failure right at rotation (V1 Cut) and at gross weight in the 737 you have your hands FULL to say the least.I really want to grab that xtra 10% thrust since the FMC limits engine output to around 90 or so odd % on both engines. The way the (PIC 737 is designed) the FMC/Copilot has control over the power after "80 knots throttle hold". This is GREAT for normal ops but for a V1 cut, you want max avail on the good engine right away.Switching off the AT Arm Switch gives me control of my power levers (throttles) again. Hence I really would like it mapped to the X52. Having 100% thrust available on the good engine right after a V1 cut allows me to survive the procedure. Quite well too. With only 90%, Not so much.Any ideas?

Respectfully,

Jet

I have set my X52 to default settings so if FS screws up I can just click reset default settings and all is well, you should configure the X52 to default fs2004 settings then you should be sweet.

Are you flying the Wilco PIC 737?

No but I fly PMDG and other aircraft and all work since they all run on the default fs2004 settings.

If I were you I'd get CH's USB Yoke/Peddles combination with TrackIR. You won't get what this or most add-ons are all about using fighter jet type joysticks (Airbuses being the exception). I've heard of no problems with CH's products in FS9 or X.

Yes, I may have to look into that, however since then, I have downloaded the key for FSUIPC. I also received some tips from others on the forums over at Feelthere. I now have it mapped. With FSUIPC, I have opened up a whole lot more options. Thanks for the tips and the help!! Now that I have this too I must say the Wilco PIC 737 is a very nice piece of Software. That said, I will be looking into PMDG for my next Add-Ons. That or Level D. I have heard way too many good thingsabout them not to.Take Care!
