GEX/REX/UTX/SceneryTech

Featured Replies

I'm sure this is another repeate question, and I apologize if this clutters the forum. Anyway, I searched and found answers of compatibility about one or the other but not all together so hopefully someone can give me a quick straight answer. Is GEX/REX/UTX/SceneryTech all compatible with one another? I found this puzzling because one or more may do textures, while another or two does landclass, and so on. Would they overlap or all be compatible with one another. I don't want to get something like UTX, for example, if GEX covers exactly what UTX does on it's own. Thanks a lot in advance!

Here's the short answer. They are all compatible and each unique.

True. I have them all. I installed SceneryTech first, then UTX, then GEX, then REX and all is working fine, and my visuals are really nice in the US.

Is REX the only addon that require you boot the sim through their launcher? Or do I have to go through 3-4 third party launchers for each addon in order to fly with the addons working?

Several have that option but REX doesn't *require* you to boot through to FSX, it's an option. One that you should avoid, IMHO, especially if you assign cores using affinity mask. Run FSX by itself.
