which airports does Orbx PNW cover?

Featured Replies

I'd like to know the small airports PNW has edited, I noticed they have a coverage map, and a Google Earth addon, but it just lists all the airports in the area, have they edited all of them? I'm talking about payware quality editing not just adding fuel trucks and parking spots. Just purchased the addon last night, and along with Vancouver Plus I want to hop around from detailed small airport to small airport

I don't think they have any at the moment. There are the expansion airports:http://www.fullterrain.com/product_us7S3.htmlhttp://www.fullterrain.com/product_us1S2.htmlI believe they are working on a Portland area scenery and also eventually KSEA airport.I also think the Ozx guys are doing some freeware strips around the PNW region - not sure if there is a list around...

I think the "blurb" suggests that 100s have been updated for PNW - but if you fly around, you'll soon see that there are certainly a lot.Hangars/static plains/other buildings are common in many (maybe most) of the strips I've been flying into.Of course, you won't get "stand alone" payware quality here - for that you need to dish out 24 quid for Darrington or Twin Oaks. But I've been pleasantly surprised with the individual tweaks at even the smallest strips - definitely some love and attention paid to the details.

You don't seriously think they edited hundreds of airports at payware quality for the price of PNW, do you...? They DID indeed edit all airports (about 450 afaik: and btw Orbx doesn't just 'blurb': they do what they say they do...!), but this editing mainly means adding static planes, hangars at (roughly) the right spot, cars, houses, boats, whatever, etc. I think they did a great job on it because they sure look a lot better than default!!! However, for payware quality you have to... pay! :( Again, what else did you expect for this kind of money.

OBBX put out a post with a list, but, not necessarily in the release order of the payware airports for PNW. Darrington and Stark's Twin Oaks are out and available, Concrete 3W5 is next, then KORS, KBVS, KVUO, and 74S. I think the freeware airports projected are W28, WA79, and 060R. I think there are a lot of smaller strips being worked on as freeware addons by the support developers.Somewhere in the mix are the large airports as payware: KSEA, KPDX and KBFI (Sea-Tac, Portland Intl, and Boeing Field)RayMThis is from memory, but, its close.

I guess what I mean is what airports have they enhanced? If the number is almost all of them with various pieces of scenery like hangers and static planes and buildings then fine. Just wanted to know which airports I should fly into and mess around with. So far I've found 3W5 and love the way it's nestled in the mountains

Hello David, every single airport in the PNW coverage area has been enhanced as described above plus about 40 unlisted/abandoned airstrips that are not in default FSX. Many of the smaller airfields and airstrips are sloped and also quite hard to find because we removed the oversized grass "welcome mats" ;-)There's a complete list attached to a recent thread in the ORBX forums: http://orbxsystems.com/forums/index.php?topic=21496.0Cheers, Holger

Negative - as well as the 450 airports that have been enhanced in PNW, Orbx also have two extremely high fidelity add-on airports for sale that are located within the PNW region; Darrington and Stark's Twin Oaks.I don't have Stark's (yet) but Darringon is without doubt the most amazing airfield scenery ever made. It's not just the airfield, it's the whoel village of Darrington with amazing detail. I've spent about 2 hours in it and believe it or not, haven't even flown in it yet, because you can use the free BOB add-on from Orbx and just walk around the amazingly modelled village for hours!

wow, those are 2 expensive addons!!! 2/3rds the cost of the entire PNW package. A little too much for my blood
