Matrox TripleHead2Go Analogue/Windows 7 64

Featured Replies

Hi all, not sure if I am using the right Forum for this, but as I use FSX thought this the best place to start. A little history; about three months ago I invested in a Digital TripleHead2Go Unit as I was upgrading from having one Projector in my Sim set-up to three Projectors (3 X NEC WT610's). For those familiar with this Unit it is USB powered. Upon testing my new set-up, it was found that one of my Projectors was not receiving suffictient signal, and the picture was a garbled mess! At that time I contacted Matrox, who did not have an answer to my problem. My supplier of the Unit suggested I try an Analogue Unit, and becasue this Unit has its own Transformer, appears to boost the Signal. This worked so all is well; well, not quite.I have also been considering upgrading my main Server P.C. for the Sim. At present I use Windows XP 64bit, but with the new rig I want to upgrade to Windows 7 64bit. Matrox do not, and in their words, have no intention at present of producing Drivers for an Analogue Unit/Wiondows 7 64. Wonderful.A friend of mine came round with a Windows 7 64bit P.C., and we tried placing Vista Drivers on it, which loaded O.K., but the Max. Res. we could get was 2048 X 600 across only two screens. As Matrox appear unable to help, which when you consider their many different Drivers available, strange, I wonder if any readers have had this problem, and how they may have got around the issue. I should just mention that I am trying to get a resolution of 3072 X 768. Each of my Projectors has a native resolution of 1024 X 768.Thanks in advance to anyone/all who might respond.

I do believe you're in the wrong forum. In any event, FWIW, I run an analog TH2G with Win 7-64 and FSX Acceleration using the Matrox Vista 64 drivers without any problems. My 3 monitors are 1280 x 1024. I use a resolution of 3840x1024 in FSX. However, I have no idea how projectors will fare.Robert

Did you switch to the analog edition?!By the way, driver for Win7 64 bit here http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/support/...ownload/latest/ Choose Latest drivers on the left.Have you downloaded their firmware update tool and updated firmware on the digital edition? It could also be a cable length issue, so if you can bring the hardware closer together it may help as well. For better exposure of your issue there is a hardware discussion section. Admin will probably move this topic there.

Hi Crewecut, thanks for input. Yes, I switched to Analogue Unit after we could not get Digital Unit to work. We tried everything, firmware update etc, but no joy. At that time it was found that plugging in a monitor in the position where a Projector was not working, resulted in the Monitor working. We can only deduce from this that my Projectors require a greater/larger signal. The Cable length we new could be an issue; I was ( am still am) using two meter cables from the Matrox Unit to the two outer Projectors. This is something that can not be altered, as the Projectors have to stay in their allocated positions.Your quite right, I should probably have posted this under Hardware; wait to see if its moved. Thanks

No probs with win7/64-bit with analog triplehead2go here. You didn't state which GPU you have, in case it's an ATI, have to use an older driver, like 9.8 or 9.9 (can't remember which one right now).Later drivers breaks the 3840*1024 support. I guess that has nothing to do with ATI's launch of Eyefinity... :( -T

How have you connected your THTG USB connection - hub or directly to the computer? I've found that connecting the device to a powered hub (must be powered) does not provide the necessary "juice" you need to run the unit. Plug it directly into the computer. Also, make sure that your Windows 7 display configuration shows the "stretched" monitors with the 3840x1024 resolution - this is the standard, default. I'm running 3 Samsung SyncMaster T260HD flat panel monitors off the digital unit under Windows 7 64-bit. Matrox does provide a driver for this OS. FSX looks outstanding. BTW - the T260HD is also an HD TV - the combination is winderbar.fb

It is certainly caused by not using the short cable to connect the computer to the TripleHead2go. Had exactly the same problem.Regards....................Brian W.
