Would someone be willing to do this repaint for me?

Featured Replies

Hi SeanWell here is the first pass at the OceanAir repaint, I say first pass as I am not sure if the finish should be a highly gloss version or not, I have found some photographs that show her in a highly polished state and some that have do not seem to be, as for the shade of red, on some of the photographs it seem to be a dark red, and on others a richer shade, but that depends on the time of day and lighting conditions when the photographer took it, so I have tried to walk the middle line, but I can easily alter it if required, just let me know.Anyway to the important bit, the download link

WOW Jim that was fast.Unfortunately though, something seems to be amiss with fliefront. I have been try to download this first pass for the last few hours and when you click on "Download Now" a new page opens up, but nothing happens. Perhaps their site is under maintainence. I will keep try and once I get it downloaded and installed I will let you know how it goes. Thanks again - Sean

Hi Jim.I finally was able to get it downloaded from filefront. I think their site was messed up or under maintainence, because I tried all the other links as well and none would work.Anyways, on to the version you posted. I installed it and it was a little pink for my taste. What I did was open GIMP and I used the color picker tool to get this color that I posted below, which I feel is more the color red I was looking for.If your paint program has a color picker which lets you import that color chip that I posted can you use it? Also you asked about the gloss factor. I think it should be more of a high gloss finish for the red, like in the bottom of the three photos I posted below, although like you mentioned the look can vary depending on sun, camera angle, and so fourth, but judging from the 1st pass I installed, more gloss would be good.I think I will save this version also because a few years prior to the bright red, they had a pinkish rasberry color like the one you did. Thanks again Jim for all the hard work.Sean Campbell

Hi again SeanNot a problem, and my apologies for the delay, we had a bit of a power outage where I am, which is something we have not had for a good few years so it caught a few people out, including me as it crashed all my systems which was fun, but I have now managed to update the aircrafts colour using the sample you provided, and I have also updated the texture set to included the gloss finish to the aircraft, also as you mentioned that you also would use the none gloss finish I have included in the Zip Archive a texture folder for a none gloss aircraft, just in case.So to summarise, in the Zip archive are two texture folders, one for a gloss aircraft and one for a none gloss aircraft, both include the updated red colour from your sample, and now the important bit, the download link

Hi Jim, I finally got a chance to install and test the OceanAir version 2. It's been a really busy week for me with the stock market making a 180 degree turn along with the problems in Greece. Instead of just being able to be long stocks and the equity markets in general, I finally had to put on my thinking cap and sell some long positions and start getting short. My job has been pretty easy the last few months when the market seems to just keep going up, but this week actually made me had to work at it a little more. Now that its the weekend I was able to test the paint and to my suprise I found a few small errors where the prior pink color is still showing around the cockpit windows and near the OceanAir logo. I attached a few pics with circles to show what I mean. This was with the "High Gloss" finish, I haven't tried the low gloss finish yet, but I think you nailed the look with the High Gloss. Thanks again for all the hard work and sorry it took me so long to get around to using this last one.Regards,Sean Campbell

Thanks Jim. I must be like you in regards to sleep. If you ever look at the time of my posts you will see them from anytime during the normal daylight hours, until up to 3,4,5am. The older I get the less I sleep for some reason. Anyways, no hurry, but thanks for fixing it so quickly. I will download it now and give it a shot. I was in the mood for a quick flight from Sao Paulo to Rio, so this will be a good oportunity to test it out. Thanks again and I will let you know how it goes.Regards,Sean Campbell
