May 5, 201016 yr Our local aviation museum came up with this strange use for one of their retired 747's, they mounted it on the roof of a future water park of all things! Just thought everyone would like to see it! However, I do kind of think it's a little degrading to subject this beautiful old grand dame to such indignities as being part of a water slide in it's final 'retirement'.http://www.katu.com/news/92705654.html

May 6, 201016 yr Author Did they paint the livery just for the park?I think that it's one of their actual liveries. I've seen the Evergreen Aviation 747 Fire Bomber Supertanker with a slightly similar paint job. I've also got that very livery in my old RFP 747-200 FS9 aircraft add-on. Here's another funny one I remember as a kid when I lived in Portland, Oregon. It was a major roadside attraction in it's heyday, the B-17 Bomber Gas Station.http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/2968However, the station closed a few years ago and this is what has happened in the interim. I was kind of wondering lately what had happened to it.http://www.warbirdinformationexchange.org/...f=3&t=34371Kind of sad to see it falling apart with age and all the damage from parts scavenging. I seem to remember that the forward and top gun turrets ended up in the still flying B-17 'Sentimental Journey'.
