Strange Flight Behavior of JS41

Featured Replies

The last two flights with the JS41 have ended the same way: After 20 or 30 minutes of normal flight the aircraft begins spinning like a top. It looks like a flat spin but no altitude is lost and nothing I try will normalize the flight. Controls still operate, comms are still normal, autopilot on or off makes no difference. Its Your Plane and Radar Contact 4 both operating normally in FSX. No other planes have lost control, just the JS41.Any suggestions for a fix appreciated.Neal Howard

Is the plane itself spinning, or just the view from within the virtual cockpit? If it's the virtual cockpit only, you may need to adjust your pan settings in FSX. That VC spinning used to happen to me at various times, although no longer an issue using the EZdok camera addon.

It is spinning. I checked it from the external view....looks just like a flat spin but no loss of altitude. I shut off TrackIR hoping that might be the problem but no joy. Haven't tried it sinc, but maybe tomorrow will be a good day.

Are you sure you aren't in slew?[/quoteI haven't used slew in years and do not remember how. What are the keystrokes? maybe I accidentally caused it.Thanks for the post. I will try the same route tomorrow and be very careful with keystrokes (maybe Michelle from IT'S YOUR PLANE did it :( .

By default, the slew key is "Y".

I would suspect some major screwup in whatever weather addon you're using if it's not the slew thing...
