I think part of the problem is the practice of canceling EICAS warning messages. I never really understood it. I know it's done as to not clutter the display so any new warnings are picked up, but if you don't recall as you should, you can easily forget about them. I'm sure (I hope) that if the EICAS was full of warnings they wouldn't have even attempted to takeoff. I think a better solution would be to change the color of the warnings the pilot wants to cancel, this way they are still there to remind him and any new warning would be distinguishable by it's color. Checklist, checklist, checklist. From the 172 to the 747, checklist, checklist, checklist. (Except when I'm in the J-3.) Single engine taxi training and checklist are provided by the airlines-- how'd they miss the engine start line?!Complacency and laziness are the two words that come to my mind. Thank God neither pulled an "Air Florida" and continued with takeoff. :( ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

May 22, 201016 yr I could post a facepalm, but that would be too obvious, so I'll put it like this; while accidents happen, you would think that these guys would be experienced enough to be able to hear audio cues as to whether or not all the engines are on.
