Can't get control pinned down...

Featured Replies

I was going to try again to "fix" my controls, but figured I'd ask about it here in the mean time.I am having controller / performance issues:1) Default 172. Weather was 10 kt crosswind, slight turbulence. As soon as I release the brakes, the plane starts sliding around, notable to the left. Not forward - sideways.2) Once in the air it's FAR too touchy, and the P-factor is very overstated. Is there a way to tune the P-factor to get a little more real? Also, it was rocking around like a leaf. This is with 10kt wind and very slight turbulence... planes don't act like this.3) Nutty glide performance - at pattern altitude last night it was acting like a glider. Throttle all the way out helped with the tendency for the aircraft to seem to want to snap roll to the left, but I would keep correcting this; however, the climb indicator was jumping up to 1000 ft + then down to 500 - then back up again, while my altitude basically remained the same.Is there something I'm doing wrong here? Would really like to fix..thanks,Andrew

Try this;1. Close X-Plane2. Find the entire stack of X-Plane installation DVDs3. Slap yourself with them one by one until you have gone through the entire stack (or slap yourself one time for each GB you have to download for basic scenery tiles)4. Install and use Flight Simulator X.See, that was easy! But seriously, I would look at your weather settings again and fuel settings. Are you sure that the wind was 10 knots? And was the plane fully loaded with passenger weight?

AndrewThe Default 172 is kinda old. People have questioned the stability of the flight model. Here are a few aircrafts to download that addressed some of the issues of the default C172.http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=do...p;showfile=5130http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=do...p;showfile=6142I highly recommend the Piper Archer by Morten, this plane has a very nice feel to it. No VC yet that may be going to the payware model.Support threadhttp://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showto...8623&st=150Downladhttp://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=do...p;showfile=8870I hope this helps, defiantly a better response than pmanhart. If you have any other questions feel free to ask
