eyepoint change with track IR

Featured Replies

Hi,First of all my compliments for what seems to be a fantastic product! Well done indeed. Here's my issue. To enjoy looking at this wonderfully simulated VC I'm using TRack IR.I noticed that the captain's and co-pilot's viewpoints are too close to the gauges. I'd like to sit a few inches backwards. The J41 seems to be the only plane in FSX where I don't sit just quite well. Cycling via the "A" key doesnot provide a good position for me.In FS9 I used to be able to change the eyepoint backwards/upwards/downwards by using key combinations. The difference with FSX is that TrackIR will always overrule this and default back to the initial position of the eyepoint.Any ideas what I can do here? Thanks.avhpilot

I think the only way to do it is to modify eye point in the aircraft.cfg file. I have done this with some other planes. It takes some trial and error to get it right. Another option is to move your face closer to the screen then center the track ir. When you move back to your normal seating position your eye point will move back too. Again it will take trial and error and won't be permanent like modifying the aircraft.cfg. Also remember if you are going to modify a file make a copy of the unmodified one before you do.

Hi all. I understood your problem becouse i have some problem too. But your solution does not appear to be convenient. In FSX we have some key combination to move eyepoint as well as you want. The point of that problem, - that key combination is not (i`m dont know why) working, when we using TrackIR hardware. In FS9 simulator, that key combination works well! What different between that two simulator? How i can solve that issue, as well as in FS9 simulator? On the attach you can see that key combination.

Tom explained the easiest way to get yourself comfortably back and the way I use it as well. You just need to be careful because sometimes this method will put you in the seat and click spots will not work.In TRackIR you have an option for setting a key or button to recenter your position, that is one of the main keys/buttons you should define. In one particualr aircraft I don't like that I am at somewhat of an angle so using the method Tom explained, I look a little to the right, hit the recenter button I have mapped then center my head on screen, works great.

I have TrackIR 5 with the pro clip and am able to use the "Zoom in/out" keys (mapped to my yoke) to move just enough to be where I want re. panel. Have you given that a try?On several planes however, I did go into the .cfg file and move the eyepoint because I was right up against the panel and could not zoom out enough.
