about FO duties

Featured Replies

I was just wondering if FO in real life duties include everything that you can ask him to do in fs2crew? Like, set course on my side, wipers on and similar. Or is it just to make our life easier?Greg

I am not aware of anything in the FS2Crew FO realm that is not realistic for the FO to do in real life. The idea (assuming that the FO is PNF) is that you as the PF do not need to remove your hands from the controls. That's what the FO's hands are for. With all of that said, if you are on automatics, many of the things you can ask the FO to do you wouldn't ask. For instance, the PF would ask the PNF to set the autopilot modes and MCP headings/altitudes while flying manually. However, once on automatics and the PF has his hands free he'd set the autopilot modes and MCP headings/altitudes. He'd also likely set his own radios, etc during this time.
