The best freeware aircrafts for FS2004?

Featured Replies

My personal list:Airbus:A300 : HNACA318-A319-A320 : Project Airbus with VASFMC panel. iFDG is also not bad (especially since the Repaints selection seems to be much bigger). But I'm having trouble using VASFMC with them.A330-A340 : Project Opensky, also with VASFMC panel.A380 : I think pretty much the entire FS comunity is waiting for Project Airbus one. And rightly so.I own Wilco's products and I fly them from time to time, but vasfmc is so cool :DBoeing:B707 : HJGB727 : HJGB737 : Tinmouse for the -200 version, the rest, PMDG. I used to fly with POSKY models, but they have been rusting lately.B747 : Project Opensky. 200 and 300. For the 400 there's simply no way you can resist the PMDG one...B757 : Captain Sim.B767 : Level-D.B777 : Project Opensky 777 merged with PSS panel.Embraer:Wilco products (135, 145, 170 190 and Lineage 1000). Is there any decent freeware?McDonnell Douglas:DC-8 HJGDC-9 HJG MD-8x SGA used to be nice (and still is). If only Maddog wasn't so freaking expensive...DC-10 CLS. I don't know of any freeware.MD-11 Buy PMDG. If you really really really really really want freeware, iFDG.Fokker:Project Fokker, of course :)Others:HJG CaravelleHJG BAe-146Project Tupolev, all their realeases really. IL-62, TU-154. Anyone know where I can find a decent IL-86 (and possibly IL-96) too?

Looks like we have another very nice freeware aircraft available.Check today's library arrivals. Namely: Tu-144v2.I haven't tested it yet but I expect something really cool. There's also an update for the excellent Koltsovo scenery, so why not linking these two? :( As for the Pro TU-154, I'm with Momtchil, Galaxy and Gavin on that of course.Even though the OP was only asking about Boeing and Airbus aircraft...
The Tu-144 1st part in the library is a re-upload of a file from 2008; just processed it this morning along with the Koltsovo update, which is also a re-upload of a corrupted file from 2006. The USSS Koltsovo scenery itself is not available from the AVSIM Library. I checked for it, when I was re-posting the update, so that I can link the two but its not available - you can get the main USSS scenery from other sources for the time being. As for the Tupolev Tu-144 - I like this one, its from Thomas Ruth and Claudio Muessner, you'll need both tu144v2a.zip and tu144v2b.zip. Part one 'tu144v2a.zip' was missing for a long time due to the hack, but we finally got it back today - many thanks to Thomas Ruth for re-uploading it. I'm glad to see the 'Concordski' back in the AVSIM library again.

You can give the IL-86 and IL-96s from Kirill Konovalov a try. They're a work in progress and good. Available form AVSIM and Flightsim. Also there's decent IL-86 and IL-96 models available from Samdim Design ( http://samdimdesign.free.fr ), but no VC or panel.

:( Well, what can I say? I have clearly suffered so called overenthusiasm of not reading the Readme file and shouting in the forum. At least I hope someone has not tried the addons before and my post will let him or her discover them as if they were new...

Thanks a lot! :D Those finally make my jetliner collection complete.

actually, Kirill's Il-96 is finished and is a rather light plane, but it's a nice plane nonetheless. The Il-86 is a work in progress, but it will never be finished, since the gauge programmer refuses to continue work on it. That's a damn shame, because the plane was going to be absolutely great with very detailed systems. Right now, I think the gauges are about half finished and there is no engine sound set provided with the model. In the mean time, kirril is working on a Tu-204 which is looking very good, but I'm not sure how far he is now.

I heard something about that. I was hoping he might find someone else to finish the gauges. Its a shame, the Kirill IL-86 was looking to be a very realistic offering. Even unfinished it is still good and hopefully at some point someone may finish the gauges.Good luck to Kirill with the Tu-204 (I had no idea he was working on this). A decent Tu-204 is certainly missing from FS. I know 'Chock' along with many others (including me) would be happy to see one.

Don't worry about it, with all the re-uploads its easy to get confused. The Tu-144 and Koltsovo scenery are certanly worth trying out.
