August 21, 201411 yr Not sure why you recommend I try without MCE when it works so well with RC? Sorry, but I don't understand your final paragraph. All is well with the PMDG B747 along with all the other add-on's. In fact, my only problem is I can't hear my co-pilot talking to ATC, but that would appear to be associated with MCE, so I've posted on their forum.
August 21, 201411 yr I thought your problem had to do with no response from entering the menu choice keystrokes. Can you hear ATC talking to you? In the General tab maybe if not checked play pilot wavs enabling might help. Also on the voices page insure that one of the co-pilots is checked. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
August 22, 201411 yr Thanks for your continuing interest Mr Ginsberg, Yes, I can hear ATC and my co-pilot talks to me and follows my instructions. But when I ask him to takeover the radio, I can't hear him talking to ATC, just the ATC side of the conversation. I've posted this problem over on the MCE forum, but as yet there's no response. So, assuming you use the MCE/RC combination, can you advise if this is normal, please?
August 22, 201411 yr Just to add that my query has now been answered over on the MCE forum. It seems that only co-pilot William (which I have to download) will talk to RC4. Perhaps they've given him a pay rise...
August 22, 201411 yr This must be a separate download not related to RC 4. (There was a temporary William artificial voice set used with the beta RC5 temporarily) so it must be a voice set from MCE. If RC 4 is driving the audio MCE must trap that to use one of its own voice sets. Let us know if the MCE fix works.
August 25, 201411 yr I've now got MCE and RC4 working reasonably well together, but I'm still disappointed that "William" doesn't seem to be able to operate the radio to my satisfaction. I've asked this before, but still await confirmation from someone who's tried this: Is William capable of taking over the radio and talking to ATC autonomously ie with no action on my part and with me hearing both sides of the conversation? Or am I trying to achieve the unobtainable?
August 25, 201411 yr I'd post with the heading MCE and RC4 on both this forum and on the MCE forum to catch the attention of MCE users.
August 26, 201411 yr That's a good idea, as we do seem to have strayed off-topic. If that fails, I might approach MCE and RC Support direct. I've not tried that yet because, when trying to combine two products, I've found each developer tends to blame the other for any shortcomings! Many thanks for your assistance Mr Ginsberg, it's very much appreciated.
