Hi folks, after installing software from CD and selecting the plane FSX crashed.Reset is needed, others are working.Any ideas?Good flying, Joiner

Full names in this forum please. Did you use admin rights for the installation?Check out the article on the FSX dll.xml file in the pmdg knowledge base, this is the cause for most problems that happen in FSX loading the aircraft.

Something else that solved my similar problem is to go into the DLL.XML file and try turning off any DLL modules that you think may be interfering.I couldn't keep the J41 from crashing FSX. I went into the DLL.XML file and turned off a couple of modules by changing <Disabled>False</Disabled> to <Disabled>True</Disabled> and my J41 works perfectly now.Make sure that if you have any Cloud9 or FSDreamTeam software that you don't shut off the "Addon Manager" or any other that may be for software security. Also when you load the default Ultra-light, switch it to 2D panel and shut the engine down, before loading the J41. That seems to make a cleaner loadup.Bob Y.

Oh yeah, be very careful when modifying DLL.XML files. You may want to back it up first for safety.

Do you remember exactly what you disabled that solved the problem? That would be good for us to know...

Yes. It was Add On Converter by Flightsim Tools and Contrails Pro also by Flightsim Tools. I would have to conclude that anything made by Flightsim Tools could be a problem. If I was someone having problems, I would go into the DLL.XML file and start turning off any addon that was made by a lesser known developer first I guess. My J41 is working fantastic now, even with FS2Crew and the Video Marshaller in complex airport sceneries.Bob
